Just when Nevada Baylor has finally come to accept the depths of her magical powers, she also realizes she’s fallen in love. Connor “Mad” Rogan is in many ways her equal when it comes to magic, but she’s completely out of her elements when it comes to her feelings for him. To make matters more complicated, an old flame comes back into Rogan’s life…

Rogan knows there’s nothing between him and his ex-fiance, Rynda Sherwood. But as Nevada begins to learn more about her past, her power, and her potential future, he knows she will be faced with choices she never dreamed of and the promise of a life spent without him.

As Nevada and Rogan race to discover the whereabouts of Rynda’s kidnapped husband and are forced to confront Nevada’s grandmother, who may or may not have evil motives, these two people must decide if they can trust in each other or allow everything to go up in smoke.

2017 fave urban Auto-Buy ROMANCE well written

WILDFIRE by Ilona Andrews is the third book in the Hidden Legacy series that follows Nevada Baylor, her family and the sexy and complicated Conner “Mad” Rogan. Upon finishing WHITE HOT I immediately dove into the continuation of this series and devoured WILDFIRE even as I savored its intensity.

I should confess to you that I am a die-hard fan of the fabulous writing team that is Ilona Andrews. This husband and wife have thrilled me time and time again. Could my reviews be a little biased? Mayhaps, but I defy you to find a flaw with their brilliant, complex and interesting characters. I dare you not to become completely caught up in the world, the magic, and the intense battles. Don’t even get me started on the heated, swoon-worthy romance wrapped within this clever plot. Yeah, I am a bit of a fan girl.

Nevada accepts a missing person’s case involving the husband of Conner’s ex-fiance, Grandmother has found them and things are heating up with Conner. Never a dull moment in the Baylor residence. Nevada is still intent on unraveling and stopping the devious plot that has been the overall story arc to this series. I have to admit Nevada has style, and we get to see her showcase and master some of her magic. The girl is bad-ass. Her siblings, Grandma, and mother showcase their skills as well, and we learn what Leon is. In order to protect her family, Nevada has to come out f hiding and bring her family with her. It was intense as was the case she tackles. I loved how the authors intertwined the threads and adding depth as they introduced us to new characters.

One would think that with Conner’s ex in the mix there would be drama, bit our Nevada is a class act. She may have lost her temper, but she kept it between her and Conner. Can I share that I absolutely love Conner? While one could argue he is all Alpha, his confidence in Nevada and willingness to allow her to stand on her own even as he wants to keep her under lock and key was damn sexy.

Ilona Andrews mixed in humor, family, fascinating beasts and a few surprises that delighted me. Their stories are memorable and addictive. WILDFIRE showcased all that I enjoy and admire about this writing team.

It is not yet known if this series has come to end. I can tell you that all but one thread is closed and the door has been left wide open for more novels. Having said that, I can confess I was immensely satisfied with the ending. Grab the entire series, then pray to the Gods HarperCollins signs on for a least three more books.

Yes! I love Mad Rogan keeping himself on a leash to let Nevada be Nevada. It’s the most loving thing he could do for her. This was a great series!

    Nice review. 🙂

Oh my freaking goodness! I think this is my favorite Andrews series, Kim. The world building and the character development blew me away. And the magic somehow has more ‘bite’ than in the Kate Daniels series.

Ilona Andrews really showed their talent by the ending of this. It is the perfect ending to the series, but can also be picked up for more if that works out. That is no easy task (coming from someone who has read a few lackluster series ending books). I really hope that we get more books in this series. That being said, I will take whatever this pair will give me (especially if Renee Raudman continues to narrate them). This team can do no wrong in my eyes.

How did I forget that Wildfire comes out next week? So grateful to hear there isn’t a big cliffhanger on the (hopefully!) off chance that this is the last book in the series. Now I’m even more excited to read this – thanks for the review!

YES to everything in this review, Kim! I loved everything about this final installment, but ESPECIALLY how well Nevada and Connor handled that ex being in the picture. And of course that romance was just so swoony. I love the Baylors so much. I hope we see more of them in the future!
