I love romantic suspense, especially ones with K-9 units. Ultimate Justice by Tee O’Fallon is the third audiobook in the steamy, suspenseful K-9 Special Ops series. It packed a punch with missing children, opening cold cases throughout Colorado. You’ll want to curl up with this sexy, heartwarming romance!

While tracking down an escaped felon, FBI Special Agent Evan McGarry and his K-9, Blue, uncover a smoking hot lead on the location of dozens of missing children—including Evan’s own sister. The shocking discovery reopens cold cases throughout Colorado, along with painful wounds and the heartbreaking guilt Evan’s kept buried for decades.
Three years ago, hospital custodian Marlie Foxe’s world imploded, causing her to cut herself off from the world. But when one of the missing boys turns up at her hospital, he only allows Marlie to get close. Now, Evan needs her help—and he won’t take no for an answer. When she finally agrees to work with him, Evan suspects there’s more to the woman than she’s letting on. She’s hiding something. The question is, what.
The K-9 Special Ops deals with federal officers who are all friends and have their own dog. Each book tells one of their romances and solves one case. We get updates from previous couples and interact with them.
In Ultimate Justice, FBI Special Agent Evan McGarry and his K-9, Blue are part of the CARD unit that deals with missing children. During a rescue of a young boy, Evan uncovers a lead about dozens of missing children, including his own sister.
Marlie Foxe, is a hospital custodian who bonds with the young boy Evan saved. Three years ago, Marlie’s life spiraled when the unimaginable happened. Her pain was so clear, I wanted to hug her and tell her to breathe.
Marlie and Evan’s individual stories tugged at my heartstrings, particularly as a mother/grandmother myself. The case involving these missing children was intense and I applaud those who work to keep children safe.
O’Fallon built the suspense as she drew us closer to solving the case, all while creating an atmosphere for the budding romance between Marlie and Evan. The young boy who was rescued became an integral part of their story, and I loved seeing him with Blue. Blue even had a romance thread, which helped to lighten the emotional case.
Vanessa Daniels narrates and does such a good job of bringing voice to both Marlie and Evan. This series has been excellent on audio.
Fans of romantic suspense, ops teams and K-9 units will want to grab Ulitimate Justice and the K-9 Special Ops series. I am looking forward to more.

I’ve enjoyed this series. It does sound like a heartbreaking situation, and unfortunately all too real! Glad to see the romance helped lighten things up. I’ll have to add this one as well.

The missing child element sure steps up the intensity level. Love the sound of this series.

Between the dogs and the missing children, it was a favorite in this series, and yes, intense.
