And unexpected love!
Working in a man’s world of Texas bull breeding, stressed-out single mom J.R. Blackwell can’t help being annoyed by her handsome coworker, Hunter Robbins. So when their boss pits them against each other for a big promotion, J.R. is ready to step up and grab the prize. But Hunter’s offer of a place to stay after a tree crushes her home, and his easy connection with her daughter, melts her reserve. Despite J.R. doing everything she can to ignore the feeling—and Hunter’s baby goat winning her daughter’s heart!—will the charming former bull rider be her true prize this Thanksgiving?
Sophia Rose’s Review
Competition for the top ranch job, a generous favor, and a unsettling Thanksgiving dinner bring together a pair who share a love of ranching and more if they can find a way to work together. Amy Vastine is a new to me author, but I enjoy the Harlequin Heartwarming line and particularly holiday romances so I was pleased to give her Thanksgiving Holiday Romance a go.
A Cowgirl’s Thanksgiving Kiss is part of a multiple author series, The Blackwell Belles, and works just fine standalone. I’m guessing, since I haven’t read them, but there appear to be a handful of other Blackwell-related multiple author series along similar lines.
In this latest Blackwell Belle story which is a loosely connected series, readers are surprised by a hardworking female bull breeder in heroine, JR Blackwell. JR is a single mom and hardworking with little time for extras beyond her daughters and her need to get the promotion when her bosses announce retirement. JR is in competition with her coworker, a former bull rider, and doesn’t want to like Hunter and resists their attraction. However, Hunter is into her and generously offers her a place to stay when her house gets crushed under a fallen tree. He forges a connection with her daughters and falls for them right along with JR in spite of his friend’s words. Things come to a head over a Thanksgiving meal shared by their joint friends and families which is upsetting, but also works on her.
A Cowgirl’s Thanksgiving Kiss is a fast read that is sweet, tender and relatively low-angst while providing the feels in this ranch country, close-knit community setting. I’m always keen to find a Thanksgiving holiday story as they aren’t as popular as other holiday romances and it suited the tone of this pair’s work competition, but friendly build of romance. A cozy contemporary romance for those who like a quick read with a gentle pace.

There don’t seem to be a ton of Thanksgiving themed books, so this sounds like a good read for that. Thanks for sharing!

Exactly my way of thinking, Lisa. 🙂

It was low key and, yes, cute. Good one to slip in for a quick holiday western romance read. 🙂

Nice review Sophia Rose. I have read several of the Blackwell books, but haven’t started this series yet. This is a perfect read with Thanksgiving coming up.
