A beautiful stranger has come to Clearview, asking questions that are nobody’s business. Cooper Owens also wasn’t born yesterday. He knows that this out-of-towner is hiding a dark secret of her own. Much as he knows he should head in the other direction, he can’t make himself turn away. . .

P.I. Marlee Frampton always wanted to lead a nice quiet life, working as a cop in her local police department. But that dream came to an end when her sister was murdered―and her baby kidnapped. Now Marlee’s come to Texas to investigate the Harpers, who may be linked to shady adoption agencies. Cooper can’t believe that his friends could be involved in anything so sinister...and soon he makes it his mission to help Marlee discover the truth―and keep her safe in his arms.

ROMANCE SUSPENSE Cowboys well written

Looking for a Cowboy by Donna Grant is the fifth book in the Heart of Texas series. Grant delivered a swoon-worthy romance and a nail-biting case that shed light on a relevant and terrifying issue.

Looking for a Cowboy is part of a series but each book holds its own with a full romance and suspenseful plot. However, I recommend reading the series in the order of their release. Friendships and relationships are better enjoyed over the course of the series.

Coffee Dates with Looking for A Cowboy

  • First Date: We are back in Clearview,, Texas, and this is Cooper Owens’ story. Cooper is at a bit of crossroads. His friends are settling down and while he enjoys helping, he isn’t quite sure wants he wants to do. Enter P.I. Marlee Frampton. An overworked, driven redhead who has come to Clearview just as his friends are celebrating their new arrival. The tale that unfolds is intense, sweet and addictive.
  • Second Date: I loved the attraction and chemistry. You could feel it sizzling off the page of my Kindle as soon as Cooper and Marlee meet. But Marlee is investigating his friends for a possible baby abduction. Even as mad as he is, he can’t stop thinking about her. Marlee can’t believe she laid her cards on the table like that and takes steps to protect the innocent.
  • Third Date: I loved seeing familiar faces and worried about our young couple. Marlee shared things that ripped my heart out. But this is Clearview and Cooper and his friends always do the right thing. I loved seeing how everything came together and loved the growing relationship that developed. Despite the suspense, we get tender moments & developments that will make romance readers happy.

Looking for A Cowboy was an addictive, swoon-worthy romance and while the investigation took center stage, it didn’t damper the romantic elements, heat or warm fuzzy feelings that only the Heart of Texas can bring.

The suspense aspect of this sounds different from the norm and has me interest. Donna Grant is one of those authors that I either love the book or can’t get into it. I struggle to find middle ground but I’m going to give this series a try. Great review!

I’m so excited you’ve read this one too. I also posted my review of this one today. I definitely loved this book too.. but I did think the romance was a bit to sudden. It didn’t bother me all that much though.
I can’t wait for the next one in the series.
