How do you kill someone who cannot die?
The wrath of Poseidon is falling upon land and sea. In Mera’s search for a way to destroy him, she returns to the kingdom she once abandoned. Atlantea.
Meanwhile, Bast tackles the frail political balance in Tagrad, and tries to regroup with his soulmate. He will do anything to see Mera again, and she will do anything to protect him. Even if the price might be her own life.
The stakes have never been higher, and the fall has never been steeper. Poseidon is here. And it’s time to end it all.
To Kill A God is the gripping series finale of the Hollowcliff Detectives series, a fast-paced urban fantasy series with non-stop action and a forbidden romance between two partners.
Narrated by Cris Dukehart and Tim Paige, this tale is told from the points of view of detectives Mera Maurea and her fey partner, Sebastian (Bast) Dhay. Wilde quickly pulls us in as Mera returned home.
The two have been separated. Mera has returned to Atlantea and Bast is dealing with the political sludge of Tagrad as they prepare for battle with Poseidon. While the two hated being apart, they each have a job to complete.
Mera finally confronts her past and returns home to Atlantea. She’ll confront her mother and prepare to end her father’s grab for power. The author weaved threads together, bringing answers and closing threads.
Mera has hidden what she is from those that would destroy her, but the secret is out and Bast will stop at nothing to protect her. I love these characters, quirks and all and have enjoyed the overall story arc and romance.
This fast-paced tale is laced with supernatural creatures and magical kingdoms in a world where humans and fae work together to enforce laws. We have merpeople, shifters, vampires and more. The author blends world-building, character bonds and story arc into a tale that allows the listener to connect.
From battle scenes on land and at sea, the tale was high energy, with lots of action and plenty of danger. Once Mera and Bast are side by side, things intensify and the ending offered a twist before leaving me satisfied.
Overall, this was a fun, light series with familiar elements and unique twists. Secondary characters like Belinda and Corvus have me hopeful for a spinoff series set in this world. I loved how everyone worked together and the growth we saw from Mera.
Cris Dukehart and Tim Paige did a wonderful job bringing voice to these characters. They enhanced the story and brought the romance, danger, snark to life. The series lends itself well to the audio format.
Fans of fairy tales and mythology will enjoy the world Wilde has created.

I’ve enjoyed this series and like you, hope we get that Belinda-Corvus spinoff. It wasn’t my favorite of the series. However, I thought it had a good ending.
