Once upon a time, I was your average spunky redhead with the lamest employment history ever, a shaky relationship with my only family member, and no idea what I was doing with my life.

Now, I'm a pseudo mythic with the best bartending job in the world, the most amazing (and hot) best friends I never knew I needed, and a guild of misfit magic-users who've become my extended family.

And I'm about to lose it all.

In my desperation to save Ezra, I stumbled into a web of ruthless deception—and seriously pissed off a sleeping hydra. Now its every murderous head is turned toward me and my guild, and I don't know how to stop it. I'm not sure I can.

I'm not sure anyone can.

But if we don't, we're all doomed—Ezra, Aaron, Kai, and my beloved guild.

Narrated by Cris Dukehart, Damned Souls and a Sangria by Annette Marie is the eighth and final audiobook in the Guild Codex: Spellbound series featuring Tori and the gang. Addictive and satisfying, Marie delivered a strong ending while leaving the door open for future visits.

Ezra, Aaron, Kai, and Tori’s beloved guild are on the line as they race to save Ezra and keep themselves from being taken down. The tale hits the ground running and doesn’t letup until the end.

I laughed, held my breath, and swore as things escalated. Twists, turns, and reveals kept me intently listening. Tori and her friends are determined to save Erza and protect the Crow and Hammer. Their guild master rocked, but even he needed an assist as tensions mounted.

The romance heated and while it elated me; I preferred the action. It just felt anticlimactic to me. Either way, I loved where it ended up.

If you haven’t read the Demonized or Warped series, cameo appearances, and meet and greets by those characters will have you doing so. I loved their roles in this finale.

I think Marie delivered an epic ending with closure. She answered, questioned, closed threads, and gave us a nail-biting ending. We got a glimpse of their lives going forward without wrapping things up in a neat little bow. She also left the door open to Crow and Hammer for future visits.

Once again, Cris Dukehart narrated. She has become the voice of these characters and I won’t hesitate to listen to a book she narrates. She captured Tori and all her spunk.

I loved this series so much! I’m so sad to see it end but I’m excited that we still have Warped ongoing and Zak’s series to come! 🙂

I’m also personally hoping for a sneaky novel or short story about Darius… He’s awesome and you know that him Girard and Alistair have one heck of a back story to tell. 😉

Happy to hear you enjoyed how it all ended! I read the first two books (I think) and enjoyed them. Must get back to the series soon! 🙂
