Watch out world — I’m ready to date again.

The seven years I invested in my ex left me with nothing but scorch marks from the way he peeled out and left me at the altar. I’m not looking to put my heart into a relationship any time soon. But getting back out there? That sounds like a helluva good idea to get my groove back.

Then I bump into Chris….Clever and funny, with a sexy surfer’s bod and a brilliant nerd brain, he has just the right screwdriver to fix my hard drive. (Yes, the one for my computer.) I wouldn’t mind dating him. The trouble is he just proposed to me—to be the new dating guru on his TV show.

Now he’s my new business partner.

What happens when you meet the right person at the wrong time?

RomCom snarky Humor SWOON

The Dating Proposal by Lauren Blakely was a sweet, sexy, adorkable story about two successful confident souls with trust issues who meet and find something more thanks to a precarious feline.

Narrated by Sebastian York ?and Andi Arndt, I quickly fell for tech savvy Chris McCormick, and fashionista McKenna Bell. Both have successful careers. He has a techie show, and she has a successful fashion blog.

Told in dual narratives the story begins with McKenna. It has been a year since her ex-fiance dumped her at the altar. It shook her confidence to the core, but today she realizes she is ready to get back out there. She decides she will do it the old fashion way. In Real Life, not through apps or services. She plans to blog about it from outfits to her experiences. She asks her friends to help set her up on dates with nice guys.

After the neighbor’s cat wreaks havoc to her computer drive, she takes it into a shop hoping they can salvage her blog backups. Here she meets Chris and the delicious banter and geek talk had me slipping into the tale.

Diehard Blakely fans will like all the little tie-ins and friendships from characters in her previous stories, but don’t worry each works as a standalone RomCom.

❤️The romance that unfolds has complications, bad dates and delicious humor as we wait for the inevitable to happen. Can these two let down their guard and find happy? Trust me you’ll want to find out. Did I mention scandalous nibbles, wicked thoughts and my melting headphones? Loved it!

If you haven’t listened to York and Arndt narrate yet, you are seriously missing out. They capture all the adorkableness, and sexyness with grace, swoon and style! Grab your headphones this one is Hot! ?

BONUS!! The audible includes a prequel novella, Delayed Satisfaction that introduces new characters and stories.

*Note from Lauren Blakely: Back in the day, I wrote a book called TROPHY HUSBAND, and though it’s no longer available for sale, the characters of Chris and McKenna seemed to demand another chance in the spotlight. THE DATING PROPOSAL is a complete reimagining of their romance, with 85 percent brand-new material, a fresh plot, and vastly expanded characterizations so you can come to know and love Chris and McKenna like I do. Enjoy!

I totally LOVE snarky romances. I don’t read them nearly enough but I love them. This sounds like it would make my hit list. Thanks for letting me know about it. Great review!

Tech-savvy and fashionista? What a combination! I have to say that I have tried a Lauren Blakely novella and didn’t really enjoy it that much. But I think I didn’t start in the right place and want to give her writing another go.

I love when a book can tackle more serious subjects, ie finding yourself after a long relationship, through cute/silly characters and situations. It makes for such a good balance.

The narrators must have some serious chemistry to make fixing hard drives sound sexy!
