In high school, they’d burned fast and hot. Now is their chance to find out if the sparks that linger will ignite a whole new flame.

The only thing Darcy Miller ever wanted more than gorgeous troublemaker Griffin Strong was to shake off the dust of small-town Revival, Illinois, and head to the big city—even if she had to leave him behind. Ten years later, Darcy is the ultimate New Yorker, writing a sex blog and living on designer cocktails and the pulse of urban life. That is, until she hears that Revival plans to seize her mother’s house right after the holidays, thanks to the new mayor—who is none other than Darcy’s ex…

Griffin couldn’t have asked for a more dangerous Christmas gift. Curvy, sassy Darcy is every bit as delectable as the wild child she was in high school—and just as determined to stir up problems. But Griffin learned long ago to straighten up and fly right in order to make changes in the town he loves. Keeping his reputation wholesome is a big part of that. If only Darcy didn’t make him want to take his place on the naughty list with her, right under the mistletoe…

Holiday ROMANCE SEXY Small-town

She’s My Kind of Girl by Jennifer Dawson is a novella in the Something New series and takes place in Revival, Illinois. Dawson delivers a smoking hot second chance romance that you’ll want to devour in a single sitting.

Dawson really knows how to deliver a full-length novel feel with her novellas. Darcy Miller is  a blogger who shed small-town life.  She left behind her childhood sweetheart for life in the big city. Darcy’s mother begs her to come home when the town threatens to seize her home. Imagine Darcy’s surprise when she discovers her old boyfriend, bad boy Griffin Strong is the town mayor.

Darcy and Griffin had incredible chemistry despite the way things ended for them years ago. You could feel the sexual tension and knew these two would tango. I love a good second chance romance, and everything from why Darcy left to their feelings felt genuine. This is where Dawson excels as she managed to give us their back story and making their rekindled passion ignite.

Dawson made me laugh as she allowed us into Darcy’s head. Seeing her struggle to maintain her composure, as she took in this new version of Griffin was fun. The conversations and wicked banter over dinner were terrific and highlighted their chemistry. When these two connected my kindle sizzled.

The drama was realistic and even though I never doubted we would get an HEA, Dawson kept me wondering how it would all work out. Laughter, tenderness and sexy time made this the perfect lazy afternoon read.

While She’s My Kind of Girl is part of the Something New series it does work as a standalone and offers a complete story.

I am glad that you got a complete and satisfying story with this novella, I end to steer away from novellas because I want more. This one sounds like a winner.

This sounds good! I love when a novella feels like a novel because the story is so complete and I also love when the characters already have some history. Add in some humor and I can’t resist! I’ll definitely have to check this one out.

This sounds fantastic, Kim! And I love it when a novella gives me a complete story, with characters I can get to know, and feelings all around 🙂
