Zehra Jane Naqvi, Between Decisions by W.R. Gingell was an intense edition to the City Between urban fantasy series. Set time aside because once you begin listening, you won’t be able to set it down as Pet uncovers the past.

Life is complicated.
I mean, life has always been complicated, but there’s a difference between monsters-are-trying-to-kill-you complications and monsters-are-in-love-with-you complications. I’m still not sure which is more dangerous.
G’day. I’m Pet. Two-thirds of a pet, anyway: the vampire isn’t claiming ownership these days, but he’s definitely encroaching. On the list of other encroaching complications is the threat of heirling trials, a certain fae lord, and a mysterious librarian—not to mention the thing that’s killing people on Hobart’s waterfront…
One day, I’ll have a normal life. Today is not that day.
Between Decisions was mind blowing, addictive, dark and took me on an emotional rollercoaster. We finally learn what happened the night Pet’s parents died. Now we need the why, although I have my suspicions. Honestly, I knew something wasn’t quite right but wowsers.
The foreshadowing was outstanding throughout the series. I had all kinds of theories and suspicions. As Pet remembered; I held my breath, periodically shouting. “I knew it!”, and at other times found myself flabbergasted. It was dark and well executed.
The mystery/case was a good one involving murders, and an app called Click-Clock. You’ll have to see which supernatural creature is responsible as Hobert and Pet do some digging. You’ll see many of the characters we’ve met throughout the series, but the last encounter has me excited about the final audiobook.
Then we have a certain vampire who has feelings and a fae lord who worries so much he must have feelings. There were some magnificent scenes between JinYeong and Pet. I may have melted.
If you love urban fantasy and haven’t started this, I recommend the audio version. It’s in Kindle Unlimited, but you can upgrade. Zehra Jane Naqvi narrates the series and did a fantastic job with Pet and the other characters. Her talents were showcased in this installment as our characters went through many emotions and she nailed them all.
Flaming Heck’ you all need to listen to this one!
Be warned Between Decisions by W.R. Gingell, narrated by Zehra Jane Naqvi was addictive as Pet learns truths, works to solve multiple murders and deals with a love-sick vampire. #TheCityBetween #review #audiobook #urbanfantasy Share on XStay Caffeinated!

Wow, what a review you have written here. I do respect when an author can handle that foreshadowing so well and I am so happy that this book ended up working so well for you.
