Five bounty-hunting sisters
Deep in the heart of the Rockies
Fighting to save each other
...and the men who steal their heartsCara Pax never wanted to be a bounty hunter. She's happy to leave chasing criminals and tackling skips to her sisters. But if she wants her dreams of escaping the family business to come true, she's got one last job to finish... Only problem is, she doesn't think her bounty is guilty.
Henry Kavenski is a man with innocence to prove. When he realizes that Cara believes him, he'll do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Escaping criminals and dodging cops might not be the best time to fall in love, but Henry and Cara won't give up, not when there's a chance at a new life ahead--if they can survive the fall.
Risk It All by Katie Ruggle is the second audiobook in the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunter series narrated by Callie Beaulieu. When the sisters find themselves in trouble Cara purses her own bounty and trouble soon follows. Suspenseful with a quirky, adorable heroine.
I quickly found myself caught up in this tale from the interesting storyline to the Pax sisters.
I have been enjoying this series and after a teaser couldn’t wait for Cara’s story. Cara is the teams researcher and a part-time student working towards her degree. She is bubby, optimistic and easy to imagine her as Kindergarten teacher. Her love for her family has her hunting down, Henry Kavenski. Why she thought a killer would make the perfect first skip is beyond me. ?
From their first encounter, I suspected there is more to Henry than his rap sheet, and soon Cara pursues another skip which on paper looks safer. Only it ends up bringing more trouble. Stranger still; Henry seems to be in the middle of it. Is he mixed up in it or her savior?
Kidnappings, near deaths, near kisses … it was intense, and I loved every minute! The suspense angle took front and center in Risk it All, and the romance offered balance, humor, and swoons. Cara and Henry were the focus, but we spent some time with the sisters, and even got a sneak peek at what the next audiobook has for us. I cannot wait!
Callie Beaulieu does a great job with Ruggle’s romantic suspense series on audio and I enjoy both her male and female voices.
While each book in the series will stand on its own, I recommend listening to the series in order because of the overall series arc.

This was intense, right? I thought there was more to Henry as well, and I was smitten with him pretty much from the beginning on. I’ll have to try the audios if I do a re-read in the future.

Oh man, I adored this one even more than the first book. Cara’s mad capers chasing her skips and getting into all sorts of trouble was fun. Can’t wait for Norah’s book!

I love when characters have one job to do and can easily get it done, like an assassin (or Cara in this case) but then take the time to look deeper and find out some truths that changes up the game and the job!

These stories are really fun. I liked this better than the first one. I guessed about Henry pretty quickly but overall it was a bit over the top. Still I loved how Henry treated Cara and how they worked together.

I’m liking the sound of this series! I’ve never heard of it before but I totally want to check it out. And it’s been so long since I listened to a book, this is going on the list!

nice. why is a kindy teacher a bounty hunter? That’s like … two totally different skill sets unless it’s hunting runaway kids?
