Tammie joins her sisters in Scottland, hoping to free Niall MacTavish. Niall is the next called, but he claims he doesn’t need saving, forcing Tammie to go to him. The tale that unfolds was addictive from start to finish as we face off against the dark wizard, a demon and one stubborn knight.
I love how McQueen blends historical fiction, contemporary romance and paranormal fantasy into this tale of a modern-day enchantress to a stoic hero. The chemistry between Tammie and Niall is pure chemistry and slowly develops into something more. Tammie chips away at the walls Niall has created, revealing the man beneath.
We get updates from previous couples, learn more about the other realm and our villain. We also learn about the evil Devina, a demon in the trapped realm, and the horror she put Niall through. McQueen tugged at my heartstrings. The growth we witness in Tammie as she embraces her power and sees a life for her and Niall was addictive and kept me listening.
Summer Roberts does an excellent job of narrating this story and its characters. From accents to emotions, she captured it all. I highly recommend grabbing your earbuds for this one.
