Bringing Home the Bad Boy by Jessica Lemmon is one of those sweet, sexy, shed a tear, heart-skip-a-beat, fall in love and swoon type of romance. It’s the kind of story you cannot set down. From the characters to the setting I slipped into this second chance romance every chance I could.
Once Loved is the second, book in Cecy Robson’s Shattered Past NA series. While it still follows the same formula of your typical NA novels, I felt this was stronger than Once Perfect the first book and had more depth. We see family, growth and our heroine is one tough little cookie who says, “Enough, is enough”
Silver Thaw by Catherine Anderson is the first in her new Mystic Rivers series. It is set in the quaint countryside town of Mystic Creek, Oregon. Sometimes a book has all of the magical ingredients to deliver that book high I crave and Silver Thaw delivered in spades. Filled with lovable, flawed characters, a darling little six-year old to melt your heart, some danger and a town that you will want to visit, Silver Thaw is a read I highly recommend.
Dictatorship of the Dress the first in a new series by Jessica Topper called, Much “I Do” About Nothing, was absolutely delightful. The tale offers two unique characters, banter, tender moments, life lessons and a touch of sweet.
When I saw the cover of Home for the Holidays, I accepted it without even reading the blurb. Have I mentioned my weakness for holiday themed covers and stories? Turns out this novella is part of the Cavanaugh Island series by Rochelle Alers. Thankfully, it worked beautifully as a standalone and turned out to be a foodie book complete with recipes! Score!
The Winner Takes It All by Jennifer Dawson drew me in with its synopsis and cute cover. After requesting it, I realized this was book two in the Something New series. No worries folks this worked splendidly as a standalone. However, I feel the need to warn you; you will want to grab Take A Chance the first and will be patiently waiting for the third. Hot chemistry and a great dynamic group of friends and siblings made The Winner Takes It All a delicious afternoon delight.
