Misconduct by Penelope Douglas

Misconduct by Penelope Douglas was a novel my friends raved about. When the audio came across my desk and I saw the setting was NOLA I grabbed my earbuds. I couldn’t be happier not only did I get a swoon-worthy romance with all the elements I favor but I found a new author. Heated, snarky, complex and completely addictive I devoured the audio edition of Misconduct.

Fated by Sarah Fine

Fated by Sarah Fine is the final book in the Servants of Fate series. I listened to this series and loved the world and characters. This series was my first experience with Sarah Fine but rest assured we have begun a long-term relationship and I am eager to listen to her previously published books and the new ones yet to come. Brilliant, gut wrenching and action packed Fine did not hold back and Fated packed a punch.

Celebrate the Joy of Romance: Sustained by Emma Chase

August is Read-A-Romance Month and a few of my fellow #XOxperts* and I are celebrating the Joy of Romance. A special thanks to Victoria @ Arts Books & Coffee who has mad social skills and coördinated everything. Check out my review of Sustained by Emma Chase. This is the second book in her new Legal Briefs series but it works as a standalone. I adore Chases’ writing. Her character Drew Evans from the Tangled series is one of my favorite bad boys but, I might just cheat on him with Jake Becker. Enjoy, enter the giveaways and then be sure and visit the other stops.

Lock In by John Scalzi

Do you ever start reading or listening to a book and almost immediately slip into the world and realize you are about to take an epic journey? That was my experience with the audio version of Lock In, the first book in the Lock In series by John Scalzi and narrated by Wil Wheaton. Lock In is a brilliantly told mystery crime thriller set in a futuristic science fiction world. The geek in me was completely giddy! The world was fascinating, frighteningly realistic and friggin cool my friends.

The Passage by Justin Cronin

The Passage by Justin Cronin

The Passage has to be one of the most beautiful, horrifying, page turning, heart stopping books I have ever had the pleasure to read. It brings to mind Stephen King’s The Stand. Cronin’s writing is exquisite. I found myself unable to put this post-apocalyptic book down. It is an epic novel of human endurance, when faced with a catastrophe that will forever change mankind.
