A sexy new standalone romance from #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely!
I’ll say this about Christian — he made one hell of a first impression.
When I first saw the strapping man, he was doing handstands naked on a dock along the canal. His crown jewels were far more entertaining than anything else I’d seen on the boat tour, so I did what any curious woman would do — I took his photo. I might have looked at the shot a few dozen times. Little did I know I’d meet him again, a year later, at a secret garden bar in the heart of the city, where I’d learn that his mind and his mouth were even more captivating. But given the way my heart had been trampled, I wanted only a simple deal — No strings. No expectations.
Our arrangement worked well enough until the day I needed a lot more from him…***
Let me just say, this whole part-time lover thing was her idea. I’d have gone all-in from the start, but hey, when a gorgeous, brilliant woman invites you into her bed, and only her bed…well, I said yes.
But then, one hysterical phone call from my brother later, begging me to find myself a wife so grandfather’s business stays in the family, and I need a promotion with Elise. Turns out a full-time husband suits her needs too, and a temporary marriage of convenience ought to do the trick, until we can simply untie the knot…As long as no one finds out…
As long as no one gets hurt…
As long as no one falls in love…But our ending was one I never saw coming.
In Part-Time Lover by Lauren Blakely, we travel back to Paris, and also spend time in Copenhagen. Narrated by Shane East
Grace Grant this fake relationship trope offered as sweet, humorous and heartwarming tale that transported me.I adored the setting in Part-Time Lover, and while it was in the background, it gave the story a summery, sweet feel. We met Elise in Wanderlust, however this story is standalone. Christin turns out to be Griffin’s mate. How these two met made me chuckle, and I was glad to get their story. Christian and Elise were both wonderful characters and I could not help but root for them.
One of my favorite tropes is the fake relationship and here we have the two marrying for three months to protect Christian’s brother and the family business. The banter was my favorite part, and I often laughed aloud as the conversation bounced back and forth.
The chemistry between these two sizzles. Everyone could see this was becoming more than an arrangement and watching these two come that conclusion rocked. Elise, hasn’t had it easy, and I admired her strength and reasoning for helping. The arrangement was in fact her idea. I loved watching everything unfold, walking down the streets of Copenhagen and visiting the docks.
Shane East and Grace Grant did a stellar job with the narration. Christian is a Danish-Brit and Elise is a French-American. I thought they nailed the accents and added to the already smoking chemistry. The text messages were fantastic and worked well within the audio.
Lauren Blakely made me smile and connect with these characters on an emotional level. I loved that. If you are looking for a feel good, hot, contemporary listen, Part-Time Lover, is the perfect audio to grab.

I love Blakely her rom-coms are so sexy and fun with just enough drama to make us sweat and this sounds good.
But I’m confused is this #1 in a series or a stand alone?
Thanks Kim
Kimberly
Officially it is a standalone. Unofficially the characters are friends of the characters in Wanderlust which takes place in Paris.

Great review, but I am not a huge fan of romance, unless it has some murder or paranormal critters. LOL Glad you enjoyed it.

I tend to like the subgenres more Sherry, but love mixing these in.

Shane East might possibly be my most favorite narrator, so for that alone I need to check out this book. But on top of that, I love fake relationships and marriages of convenience stories, too!!!
