A Barricade In Hell by Jaime Lee Moyer

Last year I was impressed with Delia’s Shadow the first book in the Delia Martin series by Jamie Lee Moyer. I was captivated by its 1917 San Francisco setting, paranormal mystery and fleshed out characters. A Barricade in Hell delivered an intense paranormal mystery with dark elements and charismatic characters that quickly drew me back into this world.

Branded by Laura Wright

Sometimes a book delivers all the elements that I adore and such was the case with Branded by Laura Wright. I accepted the book for review after reading the synopsis and discovering it was a series involving brothers. Branded is the first in the Cavanaugh Brothers series a contemporary romance series set in the small town of River Black, Texas at the Triple C cattle ranch. Wright delivered a hot tale, fleshed out characters, a decade old mystery and family secrets..Yeehaa!

Lee takes us into the lives and minds of the Kelly girls and those of the serial killer. While not without flaws this character driven novel kept me in suspense as the characters pieced together the clues that will lead them to the killer. Three word review: mysterious, suspenseful with a dark killer.

A Murder at Rosamund’s Gate by Susanna Calkins

The cover of A Murder at Rosamund’s Gate spoke to me and the synopsis with its promise of a mystery sealed the deal. Susanna Calkins debut novel shares a wonderful murder mystery set in 1665 London with a Nancy Drew vibe. A young chambermaid unearths clues regarding a serial killer who is goes after young woman.
