All the Beautiful Brides by Rita Herron

As we head into fall, mysteries and suspense thrillers become a favorite read. All the Beautiful Brides by Rita Herron the first book in her Graveyard Falls series delivered a suspenseful murder mystery with a light dish of romance on the side. Old murders, new murders and a perspective from the killer made this a page-turner.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King

Finders Keepers by Stephen King is the second book in his Bill Hodges trilogy. I for one am enjoying these crime novels and its cast of quirky characters. I have been listening to the series on audio and love having Will Patton narrate them. Bill and the gang don’t get as much page time as the previous novel but King delivered a compelling story with villain Morris Bellamy and a young man named Peter Saubers.

Mr. Mercedes: A Novel by Stephen King

I am a die-hard Stephen King fan and have been since I was a teenager. I love his quirky characters, vivid imagination and his ability to pull me into the story. Recently I have been enjoying audio books and snagged Mr. Mercedes on audio when I saw the narrator was Will Patton. Mr. Mercedes was brilliant mystery crime thriller with an eclectic cast of characters who intrigued me as much as solving the case. I laughed, cringed and gave myself over to the audio.

The Hexed by Heather Graham

Hexed is the thirteenth book in the Krewe of Hunters paranormal mystery/romance series by Heather Graham. One of the things I love about this series is that each can work as a standalone. In Hexed, Graham took us to the Massachusetts’ area on the outskirts of Salem. An unsolved murder occurred thirteen years ago, and it looks like the killer is back. Romance, the witch trials and paranormal woo-woo made this tale a real page-turner.

How To Date Dead Guys by Ann M. Noser

How to Date Dead Guys by Ann M. Noser intrigued me from the title to the synopsis. A tragic accident, a book of shadows and a young, awkward woman who tries to right a wrong made for a captivating tale. I expected a book filled with paranormal woo-woo and humor, but this tale also offered character growth, and an interesting mystery. Noser weaved in fleshed-out characters and life lessons.
