I grabbed Night Owls the first book in the new urban fantasy series by Lauren M. Roy for the setting. The tale takes place in the college town of Edgewood at a bookstore called Night Owls. Roy offered an engaging tale with a motley crew of supernatural and human characters. The Archived by Victoria Schwab is the first in her fantasy series. Archived offered up interesting characters and the fantastic secret world of the archives. From the very first pages I found myself captivated by the author’s creative and unique tale. Mini review: magical, mysterious and engaging.
Murder of Crows is the second book in The Others urban fantasy series by Anne Bishop and I chose to listen to the audio version. Alexandra Harris, the narrator, did a stellar job of giving the characters voice, and I once again I gave up my life for two days to consume this. Bishop is brilliant and I am in awe of her world. Kate Serine’s Transplanted Tales have delighted me, and I was so excited for Grimm Consequences. This is a novella that takes place between Red and the Better to See You. It shares the back-story of Nate Grimm the sexy reaper who won Tess’s heart. Serine brought him to life and made me swoon, shed a tear and fall deeper in love with this reaper. Mini review: Fans of the series will be deeply satisfied with Nate’s tale.
It is no secret that I am a fan of this urban fantasy series and I devoured Night Broken the eighth book in Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series. A strange threat, an ex-wife and another coyote-shifter made for an interesting read. Of course getting more snuggle time with Adam is always a plus. Mini review: monster myths, digs, banter and danger abound.
