I'm Arwyn Cassandra Corey, the Sea Wicche of Monterey. My new art gallery is finally open, my boyfriend is the new Alpha of the Big Sur pack, and my sorcerer cousin is still on the loose. It's been a lot. I'm just sayin'.
Detectives Hernández and Osso are asking for my help again. Bodies have been found torn up in the woods in a manner that has those in the know thinking werewolf. Declan, as Alpha, will need to investigate his pack and help hunt the killer.
We're narrowing in on Calliope and her demon. She can't hide forever, and my uncle might just have the map to where she's been holed up. If it's the last thing I do, I'll make her pay for her treachery.
Did I mention there's a new podcast, hosted by a human, who is coming dangerously close to telling the kind of secrets the supernatural community kills to keep quiet? His latest season is about a certain artistic wicche.
Oh, and I finally met my dad. Like I said, it's been a lot.
This series is a spin-off of the Sam Quinn series and set within the same world. While it isn’t necessary to have listened to the Quinn novels, you will need to listen to the Sea Wicche Chronicles in order for the overall arc, romance and family developments. Each book contains its own mystery.
Wicching Hour has a lot going on. Some parts are rapid fire action and others slowly unfold. Arwyn is finally ready to open her gallery and things are great with her boyfriend Declan, Alpha of the Big Sur pack. However, a podcaster is turned stalker is trying to out her as a witch and someone attempted to poison her clients. Her cousin, the sorceress, is still on the loose and creating problems all over town. Detectives Hernández and Osso need her help as well, because they have a serial killer on the loose and cannot find a connection between the victims.
Arwyn is making strides with her abilities, and now that she has met her father, he is teaching her some new tricks. So is her formly estranged uncle, who I adore. We get his backstory and learn more about the dysfunctional Corey and Roberts families.
Her Uncle and Dad assist with finding her sorceress cousin, and let’s not forget the owl shifter and her role. This series ARC thread concludes with some nail-biting moments, and freaky paranormal elements. The case with Detective Hernández was creeptasitc. I could not imagine being inside the killer’s head.
On the relationship front, things are hoping with some surprises that have me excited. I loved moments spent with her sea creatures and animals pals as well.
Samantha Desz narrates the series and has become the voices of these characters. She has a great range of both male and female voices. Her tone and pacing enhanced my overall enjoyment of the series.
Fans of cozy urban fantasies with magic and plenty of action will want to grab Wicching Hour and the Sea Wicche Chronicles. I cannot wait for the next audiobook release coming March 2026.

I’ve really enjoyed the urban fantasy mixed with mystery that I’ve come across lately. This sounds like a good one and I like the sound of all the side characters.

I like the idea of a blend of cozy mystery and urban fantasy. I’ll have to mark these as a possibility for some point.
