From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book three in her Blood and Ash series…
She's been the victim and the survivor…
Poppy never dreamed she would find the love she’s found with Prince Casteel. She wants to revel in her happiness but first they must free his brother and find hers. It’s a dangerous mission and one with far-reaching consequences neither dreamed of. Because Poppy is the Chosen, the Blessed. The true ruler of Atlantia. She carries the blood of the King of Gods within her. By right the crown and the kingdom are hers.
The enemy and the warrior…
Poppy has only ever wanted to control her own life, not the lives of others, but now she must choose to either forsake her birthright or seize the gilded crown and become the Queen of Flesh and Fire. But as the kingdoms’ dark sins and blood-drenched secrets finally unravel, a long-forgotten power rises to pose a genuine threat. And they will stop at nothing to ensure that the crown never sits upon Poppy’s head.
A lover and heartmate…
But the greatest threat to them and to Atlantia is what awaits in the far west, where the Queen of Blood and Ash has her own plans, ones she has waited hundreds of years to carry out. Poppy and Casteel must consider the impossible—travel to the Lands of the Gods and wake the King himself. And as shocking secrets and the harshest betrayals come to light, and enemies emerge to threaten everything Poppy and Casteel have fought for, they will discover just how far they are willing to go for their people—and each other.
And now she will become Queen…
Narrated by Stina Nielsen, The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the third audiobook in the Blood and Ash series. An epic fantasy romance saga surrounding Poppy, the handmaiden and Casteel, the prince of Atlantia. Magic, mythology, and a passionate romance amid a battle against evil.
Kingdoms, ascended, Gods, mythological creatures and more await you in this rich fantasy. Because of relationships, events and world building, it is necessary to listen/read these books in the order of their release. Trust me, when almost twenty-six hours of audio leave you screaming for more, it’s worth the investment.
To save the people of Atlantia, Poppy must decide if she will accept her birthright and become the Queen of Flesh and Fire and the true Queen of Atlantia.
After the heart bounding ending of A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, this was one of my most anticipated audiobooks of 2021. As much as I wanted to shut out the world and devour it, I frequently had to stop, take a breath and reign in my emotions. So vested in these characters have I become, that I needed a moment as scenes became too intense and beloved characters found themselves in danger.
While there is plenty of suspense, political maneuvering, shocking secrets to be unraveled and intense battle scenes, we also get moments with Poppy, Casteel and their inner circle. I loved the banter, the romantic interludes and loyalty each have to the other. The heartmate feels genuine and the love they feel for one another overwhelms you with its powerful emotions, trials and sacrifices. I love those in their inner circle and laughed aloud at some of the teasing, particularly about Poppy and her endless questions.
The world building is bloody fantastic from the kingdoms to the stories of the gods and the ascended. I am not sure how many books remain, but I am fully vested and eager for the next installment.
We discover what and who Poppy truly is and while the power frightens her, she will use it to save those she loves and to protect the innocent. It was fascinating watching her come into her role, and while the ending left me screaming for more, I also found myself in awe of our kickass Queen.
The saga is narrated by Stina Nielsen who has become the voice of Poppy, Casteel , secondary characters, villains and gods. Her tone and pacing flow with the writing, pulling me and holding me captive. The audio is stunning and I cannot recommend this format enough.
The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout, narrated by Stina Nielsen was another addictive installment in the Blood and Ash series. #BloodAndAsh #Fantasy #Romance #audiobook #mustlisten #NewRelease Share on XStay Caffeinated!

I started listening to From Blood & Ash this week, but I keep getting distracted. I feel like reading the physical book will make me focus more. Looking forward to reading this series, though!
