Sex and the City meets The Wedding Planner in The Wedding Belles, a contemporary and witty romance series about three high-powered New York City women who can plan any wedding—but their own.
Alexis Morgan has spent the past six years devoted to turning her tiny start-up into Manhattan’s premiere wedding planning company, The Wedding Belles. Now that her business is thriving, it’s time to turn towards her much neglected personal life, and Alexis approaches her relationships like she does everything else: with a plan. Not a part of that plan is Logan Harris, the silent partner in the Belles, and the one person who’s been there for her since the very beginning. But Alexis needs someone fun, and Logan’s all business, all the time—except when a late night at the office ends with an unexpected kiss that leaves the usually cool and together Alexis reeling.
Logan has lusted after Alexis since the day he walked into the tiny Harlem apartment that used to double as her office. But the ambitious wedding planner has always been untouchable...until now. Alexis has made it clear that she’s on the dating market—and equally clear that he’s not in the running. But when Alexis finds herself in need of a date for her sister’s last minute wedding in Florida, Logan knows it’s the perfect time to show Alexis that there’s more to him than numbers and spreadsheets—and beneath the pinstripes and glasses lies a hot-blooded heartthrob. As Florida’s sultry days turn into even hotter nights, Logan’s out to convince Alexis that the fling of a lifetime could just maybe turn into forever...
To Love and to Cherish by Lauren Layne is the final book in the Wedding Belles and oh, what fun it was! This is Alexis Morgan’s story and there has been a build up throughout the series with a certain British accountant. Layne delivered with this romantic ride!
Coffee dates with To Love and to Cherish
- First Date: Alexis Morgan is the visionary behind the Wedding Belles. She is always cool, calm and collected. Wildly successful we have not witnessed her have any type of romantic life. We have however teased her along with the rest of the Belles about a certain handsome and debonair accountant. Logan Harris is Alexis’s silent partner and keeps the books for Wedding Belles. This sexy Brit has had us all speculating about the two of them and we finally get their story.
- Second date: I adored how Layne exposed Alexis’s vulnerabilities and shared Logan’s feelings for her. A series of events force Logan to make his move and at the same time, Alexis decides it is time to focus on her romantic life but not with LOGAN!!! Oh boy! I loved the dance the unfolds from the shocking kisses to the slow hot build up. The story takes us to the beaches of sunny Florida as their story unfolds where we finally get the heat we have waited for but will it continue when they return to New York? I loved the meddling from the belles and their significant others.
- Third date: Growing pains, fears and rude awakenings surrounded by moments of heat and swoons kept me flipping the pages during my last date. Layne allowed me to connect and understand these characters making the moments feel genuine. I absolutely loved how she wrapped up their romance. Plenty of swoons and maybe even a tear. It was delightful and yet sad because the series has come to an end.
To Love and Cherish was my favorite tale in the Wedding Belles series. Layne did such a wonderful job of peeling back Alexis’s layers and while I could kick Logan for waiting but his reasoning was sound. Go, grab the entire series, you won’t regret it.

Lauren Layne has been hit or miss for me in the past. (50/50, as I’ve only read two books.) But the one I enjoyed, I really really enjoyed. I’m glad you liked this one!

Honestly, you could read it as standalone.

Fabulous review, Kim! Wasn’t Logan delicious? I loved how he thought in numbers and I loved how he made Alexis take notice of him. I loved this one so much and am so glad to see that you did too. I’m a little sad that we’re done with these books…I would have loved to get a book for Jessie (the receptionist).
kimbacaffeinate
Yes, I was sad to see this end, but glad I finally tried Layne. I look forward to see what she has next 🙂

I’m so happy you loved this too, Kim. I adored it but now I”m all sad because no more Wedding Belles and no more Lauren Layne books to look forward to this year. I loved Logan so much. The patience of that man!! SWOOON!
Great review!
kimbacaffeinate
I loved Logan too, even if I wanted to slap him for being so patient.

These books have the best covers. I’ve only read the novella and the first book so far, but I do want to read more. I’m a littler nervous that I will struggle with Alexis, though. While I love that she is so professional and successful, I sometimes found her a bit cold in the books. So glad you enjoyed the conclusion to this series.
kimbacaffeinate
I agree she was kind of standoffish, but I feel Layne shared her vulnerable side well
Danielle Nolan
I love the way you present this review ❤ Romance has never really been my genre, but you make it tempting
kimbacaffeinate
Thanks Danielle, I love mixing romance in between other genres 🙂
Christy LoveOfBooks
A British accountant … mmm nerdy & sexy! 😀 Glad it was satisfying after all the build up.
kimbacaffeinate
I really had a good time with this series and yes love the accent!
