Sanctum by Sarah Fine is the first in the Guards of Shadowlands and it rocked my ears. Last year I listened to Sarah Fine’s adult urban fantasy series Servants of Fae and loved them. Blogger friends proclaimed I had to listen/read her YA fantasy and I grabbed Sanctum narrated by Amy McFadden. From the world building to the swoony romance and dark corridors beyond the gate, I easily slipped into this world.
Calamity by Brandon Sanderson
Calamity by Brandon Sanderson is the last novel in the Reckoners series and one of my most highly anticipated audiobooks this year. I have had such a blast listening to MacLeod Andrews narrates this action-packed series and love the characters within. Sadly, while I enjoyed Calamity it ended up fizzling and did not deliver the intense epic final battle I craved.
The Warrior’s Prize by Claire Delacroix
The Warrior’s Prize by Claire Delacroix is the fourth and last book in the True Loves Brides series. Once again, I chose to listen to the audiobook narrated by the lovely Saskia Maarleveld. Her lilt is perfect for the narration and her voice just pulls me into this story. The Warrior’s Prize ended up being my favorite book in the series.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Jojo Moyes has been an author on my wish list forever it seems. When I saw trailers popping up for the movie Me Before You (trailers that I did not watch, because, well spoilers darling) I decided it was time to read Me Before You. After listening to a sample of the audio, I knew I had to listen. Quirky, romantic, heartbreaking and thought-provoking I devoured Me Before You.
Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop
Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop is the fourth book in the urban fantasy series The Others. With brilliant world building and unique characters, I devoured this and already I am craving book five. Complex, relevant and captivating Marked in Flesh once again transported me to Thasia.
