Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost

I have been slowly working my way through this series. Believe it or not I own the entire series and they have been collecting dust on my shelf. Do any of you have series like that? I love the crazy whirl-wind romance of Cat and Bones. Destined for an Early Grave delivered tons of action, life and death situations and created problems for Cat and Bone’s relationship. It kept me riveted from page one and I quickly consumed this over the course of one day.

San Diego 2014: The Last Stand of the California Browncoats

The Newsflesh trilogy is hands down one of my favorite series. Filled with zombies and complex lovable characters it is a series I will re-read again and again. When I learned through Bea@ Bea’s Book Nook that this novella was available I immediately hit the click, confirm, buy button on my Nook Tablet. This tale takes place at Comic- Con in San Diego in the year 2014. It tells the tale of one of the largest Kellis-Amberlee outbreaks. I loved every, freaky, horrible detail of this tragic event.

The Reckoning by Alma Katsu

I read and reviewed The Taker, Alma Katus’s first novel in this trilogy with a Goodreads group. I found it to be disturbing, compelling and one that left me breathless. I found myself repulsed and drawn to Lanore MciLvrae’s story and had to know more. You can see my review here. The group decided to read The Reckoning for August and again I found myself completely drawn to this tale and its fleshed out and complex characters. Katus is a powerful story teller and I encourage you to pick this trilogy up.

Isolation by Dan Wells

I bought this because I totally loved Partials and think Dan Wells rocks! Isolation by Dan Wells offers us a unique look back at the Isolation Wars that created the dystopian world we learned about in Partials. This was truly fascinating and explains why the Partials rebelled.

Ariel has just been in a car accident with a boy named Dylan. As Juliet comes to, in Ariel’s body; Ariel’s memories come flooding in. Only seconds before, Ariel tried to kill Dylan and herself . She had just learned he went on a date with her because he bet his friends he could sleep with “the freak.” As Juliet learns about Ariel’s life, she vows to make things better for her while she completes her mission. As she struggles to get out of the car, Dylan wakes up…only it’s not Dylan its Romeo and he’s come to kill her! She manages to escape but Romeo is fast on her heels. She gets to the road and jumps in a car belonging to Ben. As Ben takes her home Juliet feels safe and at ease with this young man. They share an intense moment. The tale that unfolds held me spell bound as Juliet works to complete her assignment, stop Romeo and keep her own feelings in check.
