Bellman & Black was my first foray into the mind and writing of Diane Setterfield. I have heard countless recommendations and praise regarding her earlier work, The Thirteenth Tale and decided to take a chance. The writing is beautiful, dark and unsettling at times. Michelle Diener is one of my favorite authors for historical suspense with a dash of romance. I adored the Emperor’s Conspiracy and her newest book Banquet of Lies was absolutely incredible. The tale is filled with the colorful characters and a suspenseful plot that kept me reading all day. Mini review: suspenseful, engaging and flows effortlessly.
As a fan of Criminal Minds, CSI and the like, I slipped right into the Jennifer Lynn Barnes newest novel, The Naturals. She weaves a tale of serial murders, cold cases and young teens with natural abilities creating a unique tale that was both fun and suspenseful. Mini review: different, suspenseful and engaging.

Never Come Back by David Bell delivered a fascinating story with fleshed out characters that I could not put down. I consumed this in a single sitting, and it was a welcome addition to this author’s shelf. Murder, secrets, confessions, danger all ensue as Elizabeth searches for answers and uncovers truths about her mother. Three word review: suspenseful, mystery, and a real page-turner.
