How to Fall is the first book in the Jess Tenant duology by Jane Casey. It is a young adult mystery with a snarky protagonist and shares her summer at a small English seaside town. Casey wraps us up in an unexplained death mystery involving Jess’s cousin and adds a smidgeon of romance to keep things interesting.
Phantom Instinct by Meg Gardiner
There is nothing like a good thriller to get your heart racing as the world slips away, and you become completely absorbed in the characters and their fates. Phantom Instinct by Meg Gardiner was one heck of a heart-stopping thriller with fleshed out characters and a climatic ending that had me holding my breath.
Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper
I have always wanted to try one of Molly Harper’s books and when the chance to review Better Homes and Hauntings audio arose, I jumped. I love paranormal woo-woo with haunted houses, family lore and island settings. Harper offered up a simple, entertaining tale that will have you rooting for the characters and wanting to defuse a ghost.
A Dangerous Madness by Michelle Diener
I love Michelle Diener’s historical suspense mysteries. They are all based around actual events, with delightful characters and a side dish of romance. A Dangerous Madness is connected to her previous novels; The Emperor’s Conspiracy and Banquet of Lies since we see characters from those novels but all are standalone and can be read in any order.
The Cursed by Heather Graham
