Kristi Charish has become a go-to author for me for urban fantasy and quirky female protagonists. Lipstick Voodoo is the second novel in the Kincaid Strange series. The story takes place in Seattle and features a Voodoo practitioner with a ghostly sidekick.
The Guardian by Sarah Fine
The Guardian by Sarah Fine is the second novel in the Immortal Dealers, urban fantasy series. With a clever plot and fun magical world filled with cards, summoning creatures and more I quickly slipped back in thanks to the narrations of Carly Robins.
Death Knell by Hailey Edwards
Death Knell by Hailey Edwards is the third book in the urban fantasy series Foundling. Luce Boudreau and her coterie team up with the mysterious Adam Wu as they investigate a series of bodies washing ashore along the Mississippi River. It seems Death is sending her sister a message. Can she and her team stop an apocalypse and what other danger is out there for her and her team?
Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews
Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews is a novella in their Hidden Legacy series and while I can’t hide my disappointment that this was only a novella I will tell you this was amazing! Despite the page count the Andrews delivered a full story filled with a mystery, snark and glimmers of what is to come as Rogan takes Nevada home to meet Momma.
Reflections by Seanan McGuire
I read Indexing by Seanan McGuire previously and loved the story from the concept to the inspiration behind it. A secret agency that stops the narrative in fairytales. I somehow missed Reflections the second book and quickly scooped it up on Kindle Unlimited. Gads it was great fun to be back stopping villains with this motley crew of ATI agents!
