I have really been enjoying The Four Hundred series by Joanna Shupe. A Notorious Vow is the third book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. Greedy relations, a desperate young woman and a smexy recluse made for a deliciously entertaining read.

The Last Hours by Minette Walters takes near the port in Dorsetshire in June 1348 where it is believed the Black Death (plague) entered England.  With her husband away, Lady Anne of Develish along with her serfs take drastic measures to ensure their safety. Isolation, discord and danger made for a clever tale.

Besieged by Kevin Hearne

As I continued my binge of the Iron Druid Chronicles, I wasn’t sure if I would grab all the novellas on audio or in fact even read them, but Besieged is a large collection and after Staked I wasn’t quite ready to leave this world or wait for the next book in April so I decided to download this collection. Brilliant, funny, sad, and interesting I delighted in these tales shared around a campfire.

The Chapel Perilous by Kevin Hearne

Stories surrounding the holy grail intrigue me, and I wanted to hear Hearne’s take as told by Atticus O’Sullivan. The Chapel Perilous is the only novella not available on audio, so I picked up the eBook. As the last of the backlist of novellas that I picked up, Luke Daniels voice played in my head as Atticus does another favor for the god, Ogma.
