by Lori Foster
Series: Body Armor #4
Genres: Contemporary Romance
For the woman who’s his perfect match, he’s willing to break the rules…
The moment Brand Berry meets beautiful, driven Sahara Silver, the connection between them is electric. It’s also something he can’t pursue. Sahara wants him, sure—to join Body Armor, where his MMA skills, size and cocky attitude make him perfect for her elite crew of bodyguards. For Sahara, the agency always comes first, and Brand needs more. Yet when she’s kidnapped by men searching for her missing brother, he doesn’t hesitate.
Somewhere along the way, flirting with Brand for the sake of business turned very personal. Despite his refusal to join Body Armor, it’s Brand who steps up when Sahara needs him most. Now there’s no more time for games, and no point denying the hunger they both feel. They’ll escape together or not at all. But if they survive, can Sahara finally surrender control to claim this blazing passion?
Fast Burn is the fourth and final book in Loro Foster’s Body Armor series. I’ve enjoyed this romantic suspense series from the guys to the suspenseful threads. While I am sad to see it end, Foster delivered giving Sahara Silver, the owner of the agency, a delectable romance as she wrapped up an overall arc thread concerning Sahara’s brother.
Coffee Dates with Fast Burn
First Date: Throughout the series, we’ve seen Brand Berry. He is friends with the former MMA fighters who joined Body Armor and Sahara has been trying to persuade him to join. We’ve also been privy to the tantalizing chemistry between them. Both are stubborn, and from the onset, I was hooked. I loved their back and forth banter and when Sahara is kidnapped Brand unofficially joins the investigation.
Second Date: Sahara and Brand have this great chemistry that made for some hilarious moments that soon gave way to tenderness. Sahara is all business. She is sharp, clever with marketing and has taken her brother’s company to the next level as its new owner. The team adore her, fear her and will die to protect her. It was delightful seeing her struggle with wanting Brand on a professional level and needing him on a personal one. She never lets her guard down, and it was nice seeing the softer more vulnerable side of this strong woman. Want and need soon gave way to passion and it was delightful seeing them wrestle for power in and out of the bedroom. The suspense thread comes from the overall series arc. Sahara’s brother was declared dead when his boat was found at sea. Sahara has never believed him dead. Now men, one, in particular, want to know where Scott is, claiming he owes them money. When Sahara agrees to pay him, it soon becomes clear he wants something more. I have to mention how kickass Sahara is. From her attitude to quick thinking I was impressed.
Third Date: Suspense and danger-filled moments are balanced against time with the team and their wives. I loved seeing Sahara with the wives and laughed aloud a few times. Foster did a great job of sharing Scott’s tale and tying up threads leaving me satisfied. Brand and Sahara’s romance was at the heart of this story, and she gave us all the feels, growth and passion. It was hard to end this date, but I am excited to see what Foster brings us next. The book contains a sneak peek which shows promise.
