It’s Christmastime again in Heartbreaker Bay!
When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.
The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.
But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.
I have had such a good time with the characters of Heartbreaker Bay and was delighted to grab Holiday Wishes by Jill Shalvis. This is a holiday novella, which shares Sean O’Riley’s romance, as the gang all gather at a B&B for a bachelor/bachelorette weekend. The tale that unfolded was sweet, sexy and filled with the unexpected.
Sean is responsible for planning the pre-wedding parties for his brother and future sister-in-law, and he wants everything to be perfect. He desperately wants to show his brother and friends he has changed or grown-up. But most of all he wants to show how grateful he is. While the weather is not cooperating, things get interesting at the B&B. The hotel manager ends up being someone from Sean’s past.
Heat, humor and a heartwarming tale soon follow as Lotti and Sean reminisce and discover something more. Closed roads, lack of food and a possible wedding disaster all made this holiday read extra special. Sean is adorable and has come a long way from the rebel of his youth. It was delightful to see him vulnerable and sweet as he showed off his moves. Prepare to swoon ladies. Lotti is sweet and has some commitment issues. I enjoyed their backstory and rekindling.
For fans of the series, Holiday Wishes delivers the perfect Christmas gift.

Reviews like this remind me that I need to get back to work on this series. I love Jill Shalvis and I really loved the one book I’ve read in this series (Accidentally on Purpose) but haven’t read any more. This sounds so sweet and fun and perfect for a Christmas read.

This position of the models kissing on covers seems to be a big trend. Sounds cute.

I think I was 3.5 on this one, too. I got so confused on which couple was next; I thought the couple from About that Kiss was the couple in this one and I was all like, “WOOT!”. Then I was like, “oh, Sean…” Jill rocks the romance but man, did she give me whiplash at the end, right?!?! Ouch! 🙂

I certainly have enjoyed what I’ve read of Shalvis and while I haven’t started the Heartbreaker Bay series, I like the sound of this one. I like stories where weather plays a role in getting a couple together. 😉 And I’m curious about Sean and this second chance he seems to have been given, his need to prove he’s changed. I’m glad you had a good time with this one!

Whilst not usually a big fan of the novella this one appeals as a relatively quick read that is perfect holiday reading.
