Merchant Master by Alvania Scarborough

This is the second book I have read by Alvania Scarborough and I love her writing style. Merchant Master is the first book in the Lost Colony series and once again, I found myself drawn into the world, the banter filled romance and suspenseful plot. This paranormal suspense with its fantasy vibe reminded me of Jayne Anne Krentz’s Arcane Society novels and her Harmony series writing as Jayne Castle. I adore discovering new authors whose work pushes limits and heightens my experience.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I wanted to fall head over heels in love with Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard from the cover to the synopsis I was excited to begin this dystopian fantasy with magic and upheaval. Firefight by Brandon Sanderson

Firefight is the second book in the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson. I began reading this series, but after listening to the short story, Mitosis, I decided to switch formats. MacLeod Andrews does an awesome job of bringing the characters, particular David to life. If Superheroes and villains make you grin, then you will enjoy the post-apocalyptic world Sanderson has created.

Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen

I loved Peter Pan as a young girl and dreamed of flying to Neverland. I wanted to spend time with Peter, Wendy, Tink and the Lost Boys. Like most children, I loved and hated Captain Hook. He was the perfect villain to my handsome young hero Peter. So when I saw reviews of Alias Hook an adult novel about Neverland and Captain James Benjamin Hook I knew I had to read it. Brilliant, captivating and clever Alias Hook was an audible book I adored from start to finish.

Golden Son by Pierce Brown

As many of you know, Red Rising by Pierce Brown made my top ten list for 2014. Pierce blew me away with his masterful dynamic storytelling and descriptive world building. It was with trepidation that I began the second book, Golden Son. Could Brown continue to hold me captive in this brilliant world? The answer my friends is yes! Golden Son was stunning as Darrow and his motley crew of colors moved closer to freeing society from its chains. The story was intense, with panoramic views and a flawed hero worthy to be King.
