This is the second book I have read by Alvania Scarborough and I love her writing style. Merchant Master is the first book in the Lost Colony series and once again, I found myself drawn into the world, the banter filled romance and suspenseful plot. This paranormal suspense with its fantasy vibe reminded me of Jayne Anne Krentz’s Arcane Society novels and her Harmony series writing as Jayne Castle. I adore discovering new authors whose work pushes limits and heightens my experience.
Revenant by Kat Richardson
Revenant is the ninth and final book in the Greywalker series by Kat Richardson. I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with Harper and Quintin. Richardson’s urban fantasy series was fresh and the cases fascinated me. For fans of the series, Revenant offered closure as well as an exciting case that had us rushing around Europe.
Omens by Kelley Armstrong
Do you ever let a book sit in your TBR pile and then kick yourself when you finally read it? If you are a book buying, one-click addict like me, I am sure you can relate. Omens by Kelley Armstrong was one such book. I bought it around release and finally picked it up for Take Control. I am so glad that I did. I enjoy Armstrong’s books and Omens the first in her Cainsville series combines mystery and subtle paranormal elements. I was completely hooked from the superstitions to the town of Cainsville.
Under Dark Skies by A.J. Scudiere
What a delightfully interesting beginning to a series Under Dark Skies by A.J. Scudiere turned out to be. This is the first book in the Nightshade Forensic Files series and is at its heart a FBI thriller but Scudiere added paranormal elements to this unit of the FBI.
Take a Chance on Me by Jennifer Dawson
Take A Chance by Jennifer Dawson is the first in her Something New contemporary romance series, and each can be read as a standalone. If you remember back, in December I shared my thoughts on The Winner Takes It All by Jennifer Dawson and that I had not realized it was the second book. I bought Take A Chance immediately and thanks to Take Control I dug it out of my TBR pile and oh lordy am I glad I did. I have one-word for you folks: Mitch.
