Requiem by Lauren Oliver

I enjoyed Delirium, was sickened by the cliffhanger ending that Oliver left us with in Pandemonium and found Hana fascinating. As you can imagine I was very anxious to step back into Oliver’s final book of the series Requiem. Fans are either going to adore this one or loathe it. The author ends this series without a lot of closer. I thought it was perfect and if you read my reviews you already know I loathe endings forced into a happy little bow. Filled with battles, death, suspense and unrequited love I consumed this in a single day.

Review: Secretly Smitten by Colleen Coble, Denise Hunter, Kristin Billerbeck and Diann Hunt

Last year I read the contemporary romance Smitten featuring three romances weaved into one book all surrounding the town of Smitten Vermont, so I was delighted to receive a copy of Secretly Smitten the second book in the series. This time we get four romances and I loved the diversity of their ages and the overall ARC surrounding the tale. I love small town romances and this lightly sprinkled faith-based tale made me smile.

Gilded Wings by Amy Lignor

I really enjoyed Until Next Time and was excited to begin Gilded Wings the second book in Amy Lignor’s Angel Chronicles series. This time we travel to America during the Gilded Age of New York. I have always found the time period after the civil war fascinating and was delighted to visit. Romance, moral decisions and faith all play a strong role in this tale. The tale is mixed with the author’s special blend of humor and messages. I easily consumed this and look forward to Matt and Emily’s next adventure.

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

Unravel Me was one of my most anticipated reads for 2013 and Mafi gave me exactly what I craved from her lyrical writing style to the way she captures Juliette’s fears and thoughts. I was completely swept up in the second installment of the Shatter Me series. A few twist, a messy, wonderful, rip-your-heart-out-love triangle and a fight for the oppressed kept me spellbound.
