Lake Silence by Anne Bishop

Lake Silence by Anne Bishop is the sixth book in the Others series and one of my most anticipated books for 2018. I was nervous leaving beloved characters behind, but I was in good hands as Bishop transported me to the small rustic resort near Lake Silence and introduced me to a new heroine, humans, and others. Lake Silence was brilliant from beginning to end. I cannot wait for more.

Have you ever read a book that you deliberately tried to savor? The Aeronaut’s Windlass was such a book for me. As soon as I slipped into the world, I knew I wanted to stay awhile. I limited myself to fifty to seventy-five pages a day. (sometimes a few more to end a chapter) At almost 600 pages, it gave me an adventure I could look forward to every evening.

Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews

Magic Shifts by Ilona Andrews is the eighth book in the Kate Daniels series. This is a series where the audio version is my preferred format in part because of Renée Raudman and her stellar performance. Admittedly, I was slightly worried after the events of Magic Breaks, but I should have known the Andrews had a plan. Intense and action-packed Kate and Curran face new challenges and old enemies giving listeners one heck of a ride.
