Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire is the second story in the fantasy series Wayward Children. Imagine my surprise when the story was narrated by the author. Now, this can be a good or downright terrible. I am delighted to say it was magical.
Blood Orbit by K.R. Richardson
Blood Orbit by K.R. Richardson delivered a vibrant, off-planet science-fiction police procedural novel. A cyber Forensic Officer and a rookie cop team up to solve a mass-murder mystery that quickly places them in danger. Failure is not an option. Political agendas and suspense await you in this riveting novel.
Guardian’s Bond by Rhenna Morgan
With my reading mood in full urban fantasy and paranormal mode, I grabbed Guardian’s Bond by Rhenna Morgan when I noticed the narrator was Nicole Poole. This heated paranormal romance with its unique shifter world offered up an interesting start to the Ancient Ink Series.
Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence
Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence is the second novel in the brilliant Book of the Ancestor series and once again Lawerence transported me to the Convent of Sweet Mercy where Nona must choose her path. Captivating, well-developed and engaging Mark Lawerence is a mesmerizing and skillful storyteller.
Lake Silence by Anne Bishop
Lake Silence by Anne Bishop is the sixth book in the Others series and one of my most anticipated books for 2018. I was nervous leaving beloved characters behind, but I was in good hands as Bishop transported me to the small rustic resort near Lake Silence and introduced me to a new heroine, humans, and others. Lake Silence was brilliant from beginning to end. I cannot wait for more.
