Typically I write my review within twenty-fours of finishing a book but I actually waited three days to write my review for Dark Triumph. I wanted to see if the mad gushy feelings I had for the book and series would subside. They did not, its official this series is my current number one favorite historical fiction series in the young adult genre. Grave Mercy the first book in the His Fair Assassin series was my top read for 2012 and its predecessor Dark Triumph blew it out of the water. Robin LaFevers is pure genius at creating fleshed-out, kick-ass and believable characters all while spinning a historical fiction that holds you captive.
13 by Amy Lignor
As a huge fan of Dan Brown, quests and conspiracy theories about hidden artifacts I was excited to try Amy Lignor’s newest series. 13 is the first book in the Tallent & Lowery books and I found it fascinating. We travel from New York to the west coast, then to London and Loch Ness in search of keys that can open the gates of heaven. 13 is filled with historical characters, haunted places and infamous characters as she stirred in supernatural elements that kept me spellbound.

A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty
A Corner of Whiteby Jaclyn Moriarty is the first book in an exciting new series called The Colors of Madeleine. The tale offers a delightful mix of contemporary and fantasy filled with endearing and unique characters. Split between the Kingdom of Cello and modern day Cambridge the tale began slowly but I soon found myself captivated as the author transported me into Madeleine and Elliot’s worlds. If I had to describe the book using three words I would say; Magical, Unique and Enchanting. I can already imagine the movie I just need Tim Burton to produce it.
Spellbinding by Maya Gold
I like witchy things especially those related to Salem, Massachusetts and witch trials, so I was excited and intrigued about the premise of Spellbinding. Gold offered a sweet, well paced tale that I enjoyed but sadly will forget after writing this review.
