No one knows you quite like a sister…
When they’re running the animal-rescue farm they inherited from their grandparents, Autumn and Ember Somerset are perfectly in sync. At all other times, not so much. Dependable Autumn would rather curl up with a good book than paint the town red with Ember. After the disaster that was Autumn’s last relationship, it’s pure self-protection. But when her high school crush comes back to town with his adorable young daughter, igniting memories best left forgotten, there’s only one person Autumn can turn to…
Beneath Ember’s free-spirited facade is a layer of deep hurt. She’ll gladly nudge Autumn toward a second chance. But risk her own heart? Not likely. The closer Autumn gets to her own happily-ever-after, the more Ember wonders what she might be missing—and if it isn’t her time to be bold, too.
Summer in Sunset, Kentucky, means long, hot days—and sometimes surprising new beginnings. Through it all, the ties of sisterhood will be there, guiding Autumn and Ember to the lives, and loves, they need…
Looking for the perfect escape read? The Somerset Girls by Lori Foster, transports readers to Sunset, Kentucky and delivers two sweet, heartfelt romances filled with family, snark, and loveable animals.
Autumn and Ember Somerset inherited their grandparents’ farm and transformed it not only into a home for themselves but also as a rescue for farm animals. Turkeys, cows, goats and pigs find themselves happy here. Can Autumn and Ember find theirs?
Foster shares two very different sisters, pigeonholed by their mother and the baggage that they carry.
Autumn loves her romance novels, but after her fiancé jilted her, she hasn’t thought about marriage or love. That all changes when Tash Ducker, the man she crushed on as a teenager moves back to town and Ember sets him up as a client for Autumn’s design business.
Ember has suffered tragedy, but carries a no-worries persona like armor. However, Mike, the ranch hand who lives on premise and helps with their rescue get’s under her skin and makes her snarky. The outcome is delicious!
An adorable child, parents and an ex added to the story. The main romance belonged to Amber, and it delivered a slow-burn with plenty of swoons, laughter and heartfelt moments. The second romance surrounding Ember was equally entertaining, sizzling and delicious.
I loved the interactions with the animals and family members. I loved the interactions with the animals and family members. I appreciated the matchmaking shenanigans and even laughed out loud. I longed to wade in the cool lake waters and dreamed of living on a farm.
The Somerset Girls is a standalone double romance perfect with a cold iced tea and a spot in the shade.

My first impression from the cover was that it was Somerset in the UK 😀 I love the idea of a rescue farm, and think it makes for a uplifting and somewhat unusual setting. Adding to my list.

I’ve really been enjoying books set in idyllic places lately. I just read a whole middle grade series set in Somerset and it sounds so gorgeous! I think I’d be able to enjoy this one a lot too. Great review x
