Scandal. Wealth. Power. Seduction. Welcome to the world of the O'Malleys.

Ex-cop Charlotte Finch used to think there was a clear line between right and wrong. Then her fellow officers betrayed her, and the world is no longer so black and white. Especially when it's Aiden O'Malley, one of the most dangerous men in Boston, who offers her a chance for justice. The only catch: she'll have to pretend to be his fiancée for his plan to work.
Aiden can't afford to let anyone see the man behind the mask. To run the O'Malley empire, he has to be cool and controlled at all times. But the moment he meets Charlie, they're playing with fire. Her slightest touch is enough to send him over the edge. At first their "engagement" was a way to eliminate his enemies. Now he'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe-- even if he has to destroy his own family to do it.

Family ROMANCE SUSPENSE yummy alpha

Undercover Attraction by Katee Robert is the fifth novel in the wildly addictive O’Malleys series featuring mafia families in Boston, MA. Hot, intense and filled with complex characters you will come to love. Robert captivating story alongside the narrations of Charlotte North delivered another memorable listen.

Katee Roberts has created a series of complex, ruthless characters who are also passionate particularly when it comes to loved ones. The story centers around the second generation of mafia families in Boston. We have the O’Malleys who are at the heart of the story, the Sheridan family and the Halloran’s. We also have other influential players like Dmitri Romanov, in New York City who I freakin’ love and really shouldn’t. Then there are the Eldridges, nasty New York players who don’t follow the code.

Because of events, alliances, and betrayals, this series is best read in order of release. While each book contains a romance and life and death situations, there is an overall story arc. I think as a reader you will build an emotional connection starting from the beginning.

Aiden, now head of the O’Malley family, since his father retired to Connecticut, is working on taking down Dmitri Romanov thus protecting his baby sister Keira. It’s all very complicated, but Keira is engaged to Dmitri, not by choice but by an arrangement made by Aiden’s father. One of the things I love about this series is seeing how this second generation, who grew up privileged, caged, and controlled, deals with taking over the family business.

Aiden enlists the help of ex-cop, Charlotte “Charlie” Finch to help him execute his plans. Thanks to Dmitri, Charlie was framed as a dirty cop, and she longs for justice. It was great seeing these two strong, confident and determined characters come together. The sexual tension and banter as they got to know and understand each other was delectable. Undercover Attraction shares the arrangement trope as Aiden presents Charlie to the family as his fiancee. It was fun seeing their reactions and watching how Charlie integrated herself into their lives just by being Charlie. The story is told from multiple POV’s but primarily those of Charlie and Aiden allowing the listener to get up close and personal.

Things have been strained between the O’Malley siblings, and we see a coming together which made me smile. I loved getting to know Aiden. He is intense and wants nothing more than to see his siblings happy, but sometimes business gets in the way.

As for the storyline..it was friggin intense, and nothing is going as Aiden had planned. Unexpected feelings for Charlie, threats against the women and a situation that could spell death have him working with the enemy. It was brilliant, addictive and fast-paced. Mix in heat, swoon-worthy moments and family created a story that will have you up late listening.

Robert teases us by setting up the next book, The Bastard’s Bargain, and OMG February cannot come fast enough. We finally get Dmitri’s story! Undercover Attraction was all that I hoped for, and once again Charlotte North brought these characters, their passion, and the dangers they face to life.

Yes, yes, YES (too)!!!! For some odd reason, I wasn’t expecting too much for this one b/c I was never a huge fan of Aidens but Charlotte was so good for him and the action and intrigue was so good. And to get inside his stubborn head was GREAT!!! I agree, I agree, I need to pre-order the next book b/c you know there prob. won’t be ARCs for a last book 😉 Totally worth it!!!! Robert is awesome… and so are you 😉

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this series. I”m not sure it’s for me though. Mafia families just do not appeal to me. I mean, at all! But I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
