The twelve days of Christmas have never looked so fun! Turn page after page of this innovative picture book based on the classic carol “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” and watch as twelve days of gifts appear through clever peek-through holes on each page! Young children will especially love anticipating all the presents and seeing them arrive as if by magic. This interactive and lively book is sure to be a family favorite at Christmastime year after year.
The Twelve Days of Christmas: A Peek-Through Picture Book illustrated by Britta Teckentrup is a beautiful hardcover edition of the classic Twelve Days of Christmas. The book is a peek-through book and each page colorfully display the twelve gifts of Christmas from twelve drummers drumming to five golden rings. (you sang that, didn’t you?) While this book is geared towards three to seven-year-olds, my granddaughter who is not quite two enjoyed the story. She loved the song and illustrations not to mention the peek throughs. We also use the book to identify objects and counting. Any time a book can be used to teach it is a winner in my book giving this an A+ recommendation on Nonna’s list.

In this charming Christmas-themed picture book that feels like a classic, four animals deliver a lost package for Santa.
It’s Christmas Eve, and Bird, Rabbit, Deer, and Squirrel are eagerly waiting for Santa to fly overhead. When he does, a gift tumbles out of his sleigh, landing in the woods. The friends find the gift and read the tag: “For the new baby at the farm. Love, Santa.” And so, in spite of Squirrel’s grumbling—“It’s not our baby”—they set off on a long journey to deliver it. Sweet, poignant, and starring a cast of truly adorable characters, this is a story sure to be shared year after year at Christmastime
The Lost Gift: A Christmas Story written by Kallie George and illustrated by Stephanie Graegin shares the Christmas Eve story of four woodland creatures. They see a package fall out of Santa’s sleigh. With vivid images, humor, teamwork and a lovely message this story is sure to please old and young alike. Each page is geared towards young readers and contains a few sentences and plenty of pictures to share the animal’s adventure. My granddaughter who is almost two delighted in the animals and laughed as squirrel complained. The Lost Gift shares the message of kindness and thoughtfulness towards others. Our woodland creatures get to enjoy the gift of giving and just maybe they are rewarded for their efforts in the end.

These look cute – especially The Lost Gift. I don’t get the age ranges on kid books at all. I read so many above my 1 1/2 year olds level. Some engage him more than others but that’s the same as books that ARE aimed at his age too!
kimbacaffeinate
Agreed, I do not let that limit me with the Royals or my own kids.
Melissa
These look adorable!
kimbacaffeinate
Right. Thanks Melissa
