Mildred’s Resistance by Katie Cross

Mildred’s Resistance is the third book published in the Networking Series but events in the story actually take place before Miss Mabel’s School for Girls. Katie Cross gave us a full-length novel sharing the rise of Mildred to High Priestess. If you read Antebellum Awakening, you will be curious to note this book was given to Bianca to read by Councilor Stella. I loved getting the history and a more indepth understanding of some of the powerful players in this world. Brilliant and engaging, Mildred’s Resistance is a must read for fans of the series.

Energized by Mary Behre

I love the Tidewater series by Mary Behre and totally recommend them. Energized the third novel was one of my favorites. Behre delivered suspense, a second chance romance and took us into the mind of a killer. If you like romantic suspense with paranormal elements the Tidewater series offers lovable characters and suspenseful tales.

Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunter series always offers a great mystery laced in paranormal woo-woo served with a side dish of romance. The Forgotten is the 16th book in the Krewe of Hunters series, but do not be intimidated. Each book in this series works as a standalone and involves different FBI Krewe members. The Silenced by Heather Graham is the fifteenth book in the Krewe of Hunters series, but do not let that intimidate you. Each of the books focuses on one murder mystery and a romance. The Silenced gave us a missing young woman and the bodies of others showing up in local rivers. Weave in some Washington politics and you have yourself a very intense mystery.

The Last American Vampire by Seth Grahame-Smith

The Last American Vampire by Seth Grahame-Smith is a follow up to his wildly successful Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter novel. I chose to listen as soon as I saw MacLeod Andrews was narrating. This was a riveting alternate travel through history and my travels with Henry Sturges were absolutely delightful.

Omens by Kelley Armstrong

Do you ever let a book sit in your TBR pile and then kick yourself when you finally read it? If you are a book buying, one-click addict like me, I am sure you can relate. Omens by Kelley Armstrong was one such book. I bought it around release and finally picked it up for Take Control. I am so glad that I did. I enjoy Armstrong’s books and Omens the first in her Cainsville series combines mystery and subtle paranormal elements. I was completely hooked from the superstitions to the town of Cainsville.
