I love romantic suspense, and when you mix in a little paranormal woo-woo, this girl gets excited. Spirited is the first novel in the Tidewater series by new to me author Mary Behre. Spirited delivered a murder mystery with likable characters and ghostly communications. Mini review: an exciting start to the series, with murder, romance and a little heat.
Hard As You Can by Laura Kaye
I fell in love with the men that make up Hard Ink, in Hard as It Gets book one of Laura Kaye’s hot new romantic suspense series featuring a former Special Forces team. Hard as You Can brought us back into the action and shared the romance of Shane McCallan and Crystal Dean. Mini review: Intense action, bikers and a girl in trouble made this a page-flipping read.
Letting Go by Maya Banks
Letting Go the first book in the Surrender Trilogy was my first Maya Banks novel and my first foray into the world of Dominance and Submission. Mini review: Touching, sensual and edgy. Letting Go was a passionate and heated romance that was hindered by secondary characters.
When the Rogue Returns by Sabrina Jeffries
I adore Sabrina Jeffries brand of historical fiction from her head-strong heroines to her swoon-worthy heroes, and the Duke’s Men series has become one of my favorites. When the Rogue Returns is the second book, and it offered up an engaging plot and lovable characters. Mini review: Suspenseful, romantic and captivating I consumed this in a single afternoon.
Grave Destinations by Lori Sjoberg
Maybe I am creepy, or maybe I should blame Darynda Jones but I have a thing for Reapers. Grave Destinations is the second book in the Grave Series by Lori Sjoberg. Her twist on why these souls are reapers, combined with suspense and romance have made this a fun series. Each can be read as a standalone, but each time we learn a little more about Fate, and the organization running this elite team of Reapers. Mini review: spicy but clean, suspenseful and action packed.
