My quest for all things urban fantasy continues, and I was delighted to stumble upon Stray Magic by Kelly Meding, the first in the Strays series. Dark magic, necromancy, and a snarky kick-ass half human-half djinn heroine, gave way to an addictive tale. I cannot wait for more!
I finally caught up on the InCryptid series, but the release of Tricks for Free by Seanan McGuire fell during Take Control, so I had to wait until April to enjoy it. McGuire has created a unique urban fantasy surrounding the Price family and this time we are with Antimony Price who is on the run from the Covenant of St. George and hiding at a theme park in sunny Florida.
As soon as I finished How to Save an Undead Life, I dove into How to Claim an Undead Soul the second novel in Hailey Edwards’ Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy. This addictive tale brings a wraith, missing ghosts, stolen kisses and a devourer.
Storm Front written by Jim Butcher and narrated by James Marsters introduced the world and the wizard, Harry Dresden, as he solved a murder mystery that everyone thinks he committed.
In Magic for Nothing by Seanan McGuire, it is the youngest Price sibling’s story! An undercover operation and a gig at the Circus made for a daring adventure. A shifter monkey and a ruthless cousin added interests and intrigue.
