I’ve enjoyed Colleen Hoover’s romances, but as many of you know I haven’t been craving the genre lately. I have been devouring thrillers, fantasies, suspense, and murder-mysteries! Such is the life of a fickle reader. However, early reviews dubbed this a mind-fuck and declared, “What the hell did I just read?!?” I decided I would eventually read it.

The Au Pair written by Emma Rous and narrated by Elizabeth Sastre & Nicola Barber offered a suspenseful domestic-noir that held me captive. I first learned about the book at Between my Lines and jumped at the chance to review the audio. Rous takes us to the New England coast in this gothic tale as a distraught young woman searches for clues about her past.

It’s been five-years since the release of Shudder, the second book in the Stitch Trilogy and I was a tad nervous going in. How much would I remember with over 1,000 books read between them? I needn’t have worried, Samantha Durante quickly pulled me back into this nail-biting science fiction dystopian with Struck.
