Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire is the first in her new series by the same name. I chose to listen to the audiobook narrated by Cynthia Hopkins and was rewarded as we entered Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children. Quirky and original this short audio delivered all that I love about McGuire’s storytelling.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid
I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid is a unique psychological thriller that will either blow your mind or leaving you scratching your head. It draws you in, sets you on edge and despite moments of utter boredom you cannot seem to set it down.
Beside Myself by Ann Morgan
Beside Myself by Ann Morgan is a creepy, twisted psychological thriller with a fantastic narrator. Imagine you are a twin, the favorite twin. When you’re six years old you play a game and switch identities. When the game is over your sister refuses to switch back and becomes you. What would you do if no one believed you? Come meet Ellie and Helen in Beside Myself a twisted, dark, and quirky tale that shares alternating chapters from then and now.
Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes
Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes returns to the story that began with the book, You. Twisted, oddly humorous and strangely addictive it still amuses me that Kepnes actual made me like a serial killer as twisted as Joe Goldberg.
Try Not to Breathe by Holly Seddon
Try Not to Breathe by Holly Seddon was an interesting psychological thriller that shares the story of Alex Dale a young journalist who battles alcoholism. In Try Not to Breathe, Seddon delivered a suspenseful thriller that kept me engaged.
