Christmas for us will be on Christmas Eve this year, and I am not ready. I still have one or two items to purchases, shopping and baking. The Royals start winter break on Thursday. I know from over 37 years of experiences, I’ll get it all done, but it’s unnerving all the same…lol Stay Caffeinated.

Christmas will be on Christmas Eve for us too but I feel reasonably ready. I’ve wrapped most things but I have a few gifts yet to be delivered to me. It’s nice to feel mostly prepared for a change. Enjoy your week and happy holidays!

  2. vidya

wishing you a wonderful holiday season.. and totally agree that it does overwhelm though we know we will get it done and well too

  3. Katherine

I’m so with you on not being ready! I’m hoping to get the last bit of gift shopping done tomorrow and the grocery shopping done Wednesday but it will be a mad race to the finish. Have a great week!

  4. MarthaE

I am with you that I am not ready for the holidays. Fortunately, I plan to go to my daughter’s house. so I am not worrying about decorations. And actually, I have done some baking already. But I am behind on the shopping!
The Stranger I Wed sounds like a novel I would like.
I hope you let the stress go and have a wonderful week, maybe with some good reading.

After a lifetime of having huge family Christmas’s we no longer do Christmas altogether. My closest family lives in Florida now. So I just do a family gift card to my two nephews family to take their family out to eat or to the movies. My sisters and I no longer exchange gift cards back and forth. So we will have a very quiet Christmas although I will do a Christmas dinner. Things really change the older you get. I hope you get all your things done in time!

I just love coming to your blog to see the snow falling (and of course to read your posts too)! I know that feeling, but as it relates to teaching. Especially at the end of the year it always felt overwhelming, yet it always got done. Have a very merry week! 🙂

Yeah, its coming down to the wire on the prep list. Cheering you on for the last sprint across the finish line with your holiday prep. 🙂

    Have a good week, Kimberly!

I’m not quite ready yet, but I also know from experience that I’ll get it all done. Especially since this coming week has no appointments, so I’ll have plenty of time. Theoretically, of course. lol I hope you have a stress free week, Kim!

I feel and can relate to your last week before Christmas anxiety! With family health issues (including a long hospitalization) my usual level of Christmas fare is simply not going to happen. I hope you get everything you want to get done accomplished and that you have a good week.

  10. Jessica @ a GREAT read

I think we’re planning on doing our baking this week too! Thursday and Friday I think? We’ve a wide variety of cookies that need baking. My shopping is thankfully mostly done. One last item is arriving today and I’m hoping to hit a Target or two to see if they have another variation of something I bought my nephew, but worse comes to worse he’ll get what I already have! Lol!

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy each and every one of them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

We are celebrating with my husband’s family on Christmas Day but my son’s family is going to Florida for the holidays so our family Christmas won’t be until January 6. Even with the extra time I am pressuring myself to get done shopping by the 26th when all the wrapping paper, gift bags and candy go on sale 🙂

I am sure your celebration will be fabulous!

  12. Rachel @Waves of Fiction

I’m sure Christmas will all come off without a hitch. I’m looking forward to after January 1st!

I have Funny Story and The Stranger I Wed to download too. I hope we both love them. 🙂

  13. Laurel-Rain Snow

I like celebrating on Christmas Eve. Enjoy your books and your plans…

I also have The Women from Kristin Hannah and can’t wait to read it.

Good luck getting all the Christmas chores done.

  14. Taylor @ Taylor Fenner’s Bookish World

Good luck! Don’t worry, everything will be done in time and your family will appreciate you no matter what. I still have to grocery shop and I have to track down an item I sent to my cousin that I haven’t gotten tracking for yet but I’m going to have a very low-key Christmas this year.

I am so excited for The Women and Funny Story. Looking forward to your reviews!

I am still deciding if I want to sign up for the audiobook challenge. I’ve been listening to most of my books on audio so it wouldn’t be a difficult challenge technically, but I’m actually trying to read more in print so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to challenge myself for the audiobook challenge!
