Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.
Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assist Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart… even while she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.
Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams is the second story in the Bromance Book Club series and it shares Braden Mack and Liv Papandreas story. Their story begins with snark and back-and-forth barbs but it grows into something more. The road won’t be easy, so grab some chocolate and a blanket….
Ever since Mac was a teen, he has loved romance novels and is the founder of the Bromance Book Club. Yet love eludes him. He has perfect dates, perfect moments, but none of them last. The guys have their theories, and even place bets, but when the perfect date ends in disaster, he is determined to set things right.
Liv witnesses a young hostess being coerced into sexual favors and promises to report her boss and help the young girl. He promptly fires her but Liz is determined to stop her ex-boss.
I loved the back and forth and chemistry between Liv and Mac. Liv has serious trust issues, Mac lets no one in, but he can’t stand to see women taken advantage of and steps in to help Liv. As the two work to stop an entitled, abusive restaurant owner, they have to learn to trust each other and the members of the Bromance club.
I cried, clenched my fists in anger and giggled throughout this novel. The Russian. Killed. Me. It was awful and so funny. ?But swoon for him…it will take some work. And the chicken talk… lordy I learned things… things I can’t unlearn. ?
Not only did this offer a romance filled with humor, character growth and swoons, it also tackled and addressed many issues involving sexual harassment, the “me too” movement, shaming and judgement or biased based on who your parents are, how your children behave and beyond.
The situation Jess and Liv found themselves in could have been ripped from a national news story. Adams did a great job of shedding light on the reality of the situation before giving readers their happily ever after.
If you are looking for a romance with humor that tackles current issues and delivers a side of suspense, you’ll want to meet the Bromance Club.

It’s interesting that this book does address such serious issues. At first I thought it’d just be a fun romp of a romance but it looks like there’s a lot more to it. Adding this series to my TBR!

I have the first book in this series and seriously need to hurry up and read it so I can fall in love with this sequel book too. If it can have you both crying and laughing and everything in between it sounds perfect. And I love the sound of the main couple involved as well. Gah, I just want to start reading these books asap now!

The Russian really is the breakout star of this series. He had better get his HEA. I was glad I got to know Liv better, because I did not like her very much in the last book. Now I understand her, and Mack helped me see her best side.

I felt similarly about this one, enjoying it more than the first one (which I did enjoy). Fantastic review! People seem excited to get the Russian hooked up. lol

I’ve got this one and I can’t wait to fit it in though I was a bit wary of Liz because she was such a tough cookie in her sister’s story.
