Miami's best bounty hunter, Nikita Tesoro will do anything to collar a fugitive. Including stepping into a stripper's stilettos for the night. Outsmarting her rival Kyle Beaudecker is just a bonus. Despite the sexual tension sparking between them, Nikita keeps a professional distance from "Hurricane" Kyle. After all, she can't get hurt if she doesn't care. A descendant of the archangel Barakiel with the power to harness electricity, Kyle should be focusing his energy on tracking down a demon that may be hiding in the human realm. But he's a lover, not a fighter, and he'd much rather use his special talents for pleasure: specifically Nikita's. And teaming up to find a bail jumper means spending lots of time together… But when their case takes a turn for the demonic, Kyle can no longer hide his true nature from Nikita. He'll do whatever it takes to win her heart—even stop the apocalypse. But he can't do it alone.

Dangerous Angel is the fourth book in the Earth Angels series by Stacy Gail and perhaps my favorite of the series. From the wicked banter to the sexual tension I fell hard and fast for Kyle and Nikita. Mini review: Intense, suspenseful, and smokin’ hot. I consumed this in a single afternoon.

Nikita Tesoro is a kick-ass, take no prisoners bounty hunter in Miami Dade, Florida. Some might say she is the best, expect maybe her number one rival Kyle Beaudecker. These two have a friendship of sorts where they try to out-best the other and exchange wicked sexually charged banter. Things are about to heat up as Kyle decides he is ready to take it to the next level and their current bounty turns demonic. Fast paced; this tale draws all of the previous characters together for an epic battle to stop evil and save the world.

I loved the duo in Dangerous Angel from their passionate banter to how kick-ass they both were. Gail did an excellent job of fleshing out Nikita and her back-story just about broke my heart. This chick is tough as nails but just below the surface she is as fragile as glass especially when it comes to love. Kyle is a descendant of the archangel Barakiel and has the power to harness electricity. He is smoking hot and has an easy going demeanor that I found attractive. He has wanted Nikita forever, but until now hasn’t made advances. He wants more than just an amazing roll in the hay. As Gail intensified the danger, their relationship developed, and I loved their interactions. The wicked, sexually laced banter, outrageous digs, and competitiveness made me laugh, swoon and root for this couple. All of the other characters from the previous novels appear for the final battle, and it was fun seeing them all together.

Dangerous Angel and the overall arc to the Earth Angel series has been quite an adventure. Each novel has amped up the tension and increased the threat. Gail’s take on the Nephilim (half-angel/half-human) is fascinating. I adore the friends to lovers/revivals to lovers’ trope and with Nikita and Kyle it really made the romance feel genuine. We get some heat and some cool tricks with electricity that melted the pages. The characters were well developed, and the case was a fascinating one. Add in a storm, and a demon trying to take over the world and you get intense action. The climactic battle was intense and in the aftermath Gail added some tender moments that made my eyes water.

Fans of paranormal romances, heat and kick-ass angels, will enjoy Dangerous Angel and the Earth Angel series. I would really like to see Gail write a full-length paranormal romance. I have enjoyed watching her grow and hone her skills throughout this series, and now I want to see her fly.

I haven’t heard about this series before, but to be completely honest, I’m not in the hurry to read it. There are too many books on my tbr list – I don’t need another great reads that will distract me.:) And don’t even let me start with arcs. Grrr…

thanks Andrea, I enjoyed the Earth Angel series 🙂

  6. Aimee

I’m not a huge fan of angel books, but Nikita definitely sounds like a badass. And easygoing guys are totally my thing, so Kyle is sounding very attractive to me, haha! 😉

    • kimbacaffeinate

thanks Aimee, I like that these half-angels were more human.

I STILL haven’t broke my angel ban. I’ve been wanting to for awhile, but every time I start to take the plunge, I back out. I think Fitzgerld’s Hush, Hush series ruined me, dammit. I just need to find a good one to get me back in the saddle. Banter is always a great start …

    • kimbacaffeinate

This is good because they are half-angel descendants..more like humans with super powers and no intervention from above.

  8. A Voracious Reader

I put the 1st book on the TBR Jan 2013 and then forgot all about this series. What is *wrong* with me?! *leans over so Kimba can smack the back of my head*

Oh wow. I had no idea she wrote these! I have her on my tbr list from a few months back after seeing Starting from Scratch & Hero’s Homecoming. Those so called to me. I really need to get to those soon. Thanks for the reminder about her books! Glad to hear she’s a good one 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

I loved that book, yeah she writes good stuff and she is such a sweetheart 🙂

I just love Stacy. I have been wanting to read this series and I will very soon! The covers are gorgeous! Moving them up on my TBR list…

I do too, I still need to read her Ugly Duckling? story.

  11. Lindy

Yay! I love stories about angels, and this sounds like a series that both I an Ria would enjoy! I love Kick-Ass Characters, passionate banter, adventure, and of course a smokin’ hot story! Awesome Review Kim 🙂

  12. Braine Talk Supe

I wanted to read this series too but given my current series binges, I can’t squeeze 4 books in at this point. I do love your feedback about the banter, this sounds like my kind of PNR

    • kimbacaffeinate

LOL, I hear you! I have a list of series I want/need to start

  13. Heidi

Angel books are hit or miss for me, but these angels don’t seem too godly, they obviously have their dark sides so I could handle that.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I like these because they are half-angels and no religious message.

    • kimbacaffeinate

thanks I do too Debbie 🙂 plus he us pretty on the eyes

  14. Tanja

I love books that you devour in one afternoon. Then always tend to be the most gripping ones. I’m so glad you enjoyed this one and that this series is getting better and better for you. Great review, Kim 🙂

    • kimbacaffeinate

Me too, this was the perfect length to escape from the world for a bit.

  15. Lupdilup

I never heard of this series before Kimba, sounds interesting. this is only the fourth book, so not too late to start. I’ve only listened/read 3 angels series before, and do enjoy them. I figured I have to give the angle as much time as give to the demons…LOL
    Thanks!

    • kimbacaffeinate

This was the final book, at least to my knowledge.

    • kimbacaffeinate

I am so glad you like them too. It is a nice blend of dark, humor and smexy 🙂

  16. Candace

I haven’t really heard much about this series at all. But I love sexual tension, this series sounds good!

  17. Carmel

I’ve been avoiding PNR that features angels; this supe is really hit or miss with me. I like the mythology, but can stand the preachiness that these celestials sometimes bring to the table. This series sounds like it might be worth my while though. Thanks for the review!

    • kimbacaffeinate

These are light, without heavy messages or religion. They are half-human and scattered across the world. The series to me is more romantic suspense with a side of woo-woo.

  18. Nick

I like these UF series where each book features different characters. This one especially sounds sexy and you know how much I love witty banter between couples!
    Great review, Kim!

    • kimbacaffeinate

These a fun Nick and short enough to squeeze in between your studies.

  19. Mary

I feel like, anywhere I go, his nips are staring at me…

I haven’t read any in this series so probably wouldn’t start here, even though I’m notorious about starting series in the middle. However, Kyle sounds like he’s worth the wait!

  20. kindlemom1

How have I missed hearing about this series?

I love that cover and you know I am always up for wicked banter!

    • kimbacaffeinate

This was a fun series Kimberly, from the overall arc to the couples.
