River Marked is the sixth novel in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Despite mixed reviews it was perhaps one of my favorite in this urban fantasy series. Unlike its predecessors most of the action takes place in the second half of the novel. Briggs brings us more of Mercy’s story and a captivating look at Indian lore. I consumed this in a single afternoon and loved every minute of it.
Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Daimon is the prequel to Half-Blood the first full novel in the Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. While this novella is only sixty-nine pages in length, it offers the perfect introduction to the protagonist, the world she lives in and her purpose. From the first few pages, I knew I was going to love Armentrout and this series. Fans of mythology and urban fantasy are sure to find this series delightful.
Revenge is Sweet by Misty Evans
Revenge is Sweet is the first novel in the urban fantasy series Kali Sweet by award winning author Misty Evans. This adult-fiction offers an urban fantasy set in the windy city of Chicago. Filled with demons, vampires, witches and angels this fast-paced action packed novel keep me on the edge of my seat.
The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong
I am ashamed to say that The Gathering is the first book I have ever read by author Kelly Armstrong. I am delighted to say it will not be my last. The Gathering is the first book in the trilogy entitled Darkness Rising. Armstrong’s urban fantasy brings us supernatural elements, Indian lore, romance and a town full of secrets. The tale grabbed me from page one, and while the pace wasn’t mind-boggling I enjoyed every minute of it.
Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs
Silver Borne is the fifth novel in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. I love this series and shape-shifting protagonist Mercy. She is so tough, a real tomboy with a heart that is ten sizes too big. The world Briggs has created and the characters in it are wonderful, and I find myself delighted every time I return.
