Old Flames, is a suspenseful mystery. Yatscoff takes us into the life of a Canadian firefighter with a secret from his past. The tale has lots of twists and a reveal, that I didn’t see coming. Told from a male protagonist’s point of view, this novel offers a fresh perspective into firefighting, arson and revenge.
Christmas at Timberwoods by Fern Michaels
I purchased Christmas at Timberwoods by Fern Michaels, as it was the December, book of the month selection for a Goodreads group. It is a romantic suspense novel, with events that take place in the days before Christmas. The central story involves a young woman who suffers from visions and her attempts to stop a horrific event from occurring. The tale unfolds as Michaels changes points of views between key characters.
The Shade and the Nine Lower Levels by Tannis Skye
The Shade and the Nine Lower Levels is a dark urban fantasy with supernatural elements. It started off slow for me and left me with unanswered questions. The story line is unique and I look forward to reading more in this series. This novel has vampires, demons, angels, hellions and a new creature called a Shade.
The Evil Inside by Heather Graham
Evil Inside is the fourth novel in the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham. All of the books in this series involve a special forensic unit of the FBI, which deals unofficially with the paranormal. If you enjoy paranormal romances steeped in mystery you are sure to love this series. All of the tales can be read as a standalone. Graham gives enough background to bring the reader up to speed, and each novel deals with one agent and their romance.
Cedardale Court by Nathan Lee Christensen
Cedardale Court is a mystery with lots of twists in a small town in Oregon. This is the first published work of indie author Nathan Lee Christensen and I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating tale. I started and finished it in a day.
