Parasite by Mira Grant

I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I have a profound love for this author. Mira Grant is a pseudonym for author Seanan McGuire. She brilliantly crosses genres and has created two separate and unique voices. I have loved every published work she has ever written and the Newsflesh Trilogy remains one of my all time favorites. If you recently spent the summer watching, “Under the Dome” by Stephen King. this tale offers a similar yet darker tale that will keep you reading and searching for answers. Three word review: Spin-tingling, atmospheric and captivating.

The Harvesting by Melanie Karsak

When I finished this book I just sat back with my mouth hanging open and basked in its glow. Labeled as horror or zombie book, The Harvesting is so much more. Karsak has blended lore, paranormal creatures and fantasy into this post-apocalyptic zombie infested world. The tale is gripping and I became completely enthralled. This may very well be one of my top ten reads for 2013 and I cannot wait for the next book.

Fans of Stephen King, James Patterson and Dean Kootz will enjoy Uninvited. I literally could not put this down, despite its meandering pace; I became completely caught up in the events that occurred within it’s pages. Jensen delivers a thought provoking, creep-tastic novel that had me on the edge of my seat.
