Falling for Jillian by Kristen Proby is the third book in her Love Under the Big Sky series. I am happy to report that this heated contemporary works as a standalone. Falling for Jillian set in breathtakingly beautiful Montana had so many elements I enjoy; military men, small-town charm and a second chance romance. I chose to listen to this on audio and oh my..it was quite the experience.
The Deep by Nick Cutter
Do you like old school horror? Nick Cutter brings that dark grittiness to his story. The Deep is a spine-tingling, breath-holding horror story that had me in awe even as I cringed. I listened to this on audio and Corey Brill’s narration made the protagonist’s fear seep into my bones.
Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews
I am laughing to myself as I write this review. Its Christmas Eve morning and I have pies in the oven. I have been blowing through this series and loving every moment of it. No you’re not crazy, it is indeed March. I review ahead and thus here we are. *Finally* Magic Rising is the sixth audio in Ilona Andrews wildly popular Kate Daniels series and has us traveling to Europe. The audio was fifteen hours in length but it felt like four. Filled with angst, miscommunication and death once again Andrews held me captive as I listened to Magic Rising.
See How Small: A Novel by Scott Blackwood
See How Small by Scott Blackwood is a literary fiction sharing the aftermath of the brutal murder of three teenage girls. It shares the story of the survivors, the suspects and weaves in a paranormal effect involving the three dead girls who hover over the town and make occasional visits. While this tale with its meandering, erratic time line will not be for everyone, you cannot help but appreciate Blackwood’s beautiful prose, and haunting look into this small Texas town.
Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop
Vision in Silver is the third book in Anne Bishop’s Other series. I love this series so hard it may be classified as extreme fangirling. I own the series is every format. Generally I listen to the audio version first and then read it. I have listened to the first two books twice and read them once. This is unprecedented as I am not generally one who does re-reads outside of a few classics. If you have not read/listened to this series, you are missing out.
