Last year I read and loved, Extracted, by Sherry D. Ficklin & Tyler Jolley. I was delighted to dive into Ficklin’s young adult paranormal, Losing Logan. This mystery was refreshing, sweet and at times hilarious. Ficklin’s references to science fiction movies and television shows will delight readers. Zoe navigates interacting with a ghost, falling in love and saying good-bye. With fleshed out characters, danger and snark Losing Logan is not to be missed.
The Taking by Kimberly Derting
I was excited by the premise for The Taking the first book in a new trilogy by Kimberly Derting. I am a science fiction geek at heart and love the concept of aliens. The Taking ended up being a book that left me feeling conflicted. It was an easy read and aspects delighted me but an equal number had me rolling my eyes and skimming.
Always On My Mind by Bella Andre
I am back to share the eighth book in the Sullivans series by Bella Andre. Always on My Mind features Lori Sullivan the ballerina whom her siblings nicknamed, Naughty. Mini review: Heated, romantic, hilarious, and gave me the “feels”.
Savor by Monica Murphy
Savor is the third book in the Billionaire Bachelors Club by Monica Murphy. This series has been fun, and I enjoyed this final book with its forbidden romance. Mini review: familiar tropes and lovable characters made this a fun, sexy read.
The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa
The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa is a favorite and I was delighted to get my hands on Forever Song. It is the final dance with these beloved characters. Their dark world was one that held me captive as the characters stole my heart. Mini review: An action-packed, heart-felt, often hilarious ending to a fantastically brilliant series.
